Sentinel lymph node (SLN) biopsy has become the standard of care for lymph node staging in melanoma and the most important predictor of survival in clinically node-negative disease. Previous guidelines recommend completion lymph node dissection (CLND) in cases of positive SLN; however, the lymph nodes recovered during CLND are only positive in a minority of these cases. Recent evidence suggests that conservative management ( observation) has similar outcomes compared to CLND. We sought to review the most current literature regarding the management of SLN in metastatic melanoma and to discuss potential future directions.

Objectives: We aimed to compare the outcomes of patients with T1-T2N0M0 glottic squamous cell carcinoma who underwent either partial laryngectomy (PL) or radiotherapy (RT).
Methods: A retrospective analysis of 562 patients treated with RT (n = 151) or PL (n = 411) was conducted. The Kaplan-Meier method was used to estimate outcomes.

Aleutian mink disease (mink plasmacytosis) is a severe immune complex-mediated condition caused by the Aleutian Mink Disease Virus (AMDV), the most significant pathogen affecting mink health in the industry. Several studies have shown that AMDV epidemics can result in millions to tens of millions of dollars in economic losses worldwide each year. In this study, we developed a TaqMan probe-based real-time PCR technology (TaqMan-qPCR) for the specific, sensitive, and reproducible detection and quantification of AMDV in mink tissues by the VP2 gene, achieving detection limits as low as 1.

The role of p53 expression in colorectal cancer (CRC) was investigated in this immunohistochemical analysis of 110 CRC patients. The study aimed to explore the relationship between p53 expression and clinicopathological features, such as tumor grade, size, lymph node involvement, and molecular subtypes. The mean age of patients was 52.

Objective: To review a rare case of a lateral neck mass pathologically confirmed as an encapsulated papillary thyroid carcinoma in our center for complementing the lack of management of rare cases, and to explore the differentiation of primary ectopic thyroid carcinoma and metastatic disease in the context of the presence of malignant tumors within the situ thyroid gland.
Methods: We searched for studies on lateral neck ectopic thyroid cancer to compare and analyze it with metastatic carcinoma of the thyroid gland in terms of clinical features, imaging manifestations, pathological features at molecular level, and treatment principles.
Results: Based on available data, we concluded that the mass of this patient was consistent with metastatic lateral neck ectopic thyroid carcinoma.

Objective: The 2013 TCGA identified four molecular subgroups of endometrial cancer; however, the data results for most of the pathological features were varied and of low value for clinical application. Therefore, a meta-analysis of articles related to the clinicopathological features of molecular typing was performed to observe how the prevalence of the four subgroups varied across different pathological features and whether they were associated with certain specific pathological features and to understand how molecular typing may influence current pathological assessments.
Methods: PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, CNKI, Wanfang, and VIP were searched from the time of library construction until May 2024, and the following data were extracted: histological type, FIGO grade, FIGO stage, LVSI, depth of muscularis propria infiltration, and lymph node status of each TCGA group.
