Objective: Many studies have focused on correlations between forkhead box protein C2 (FOXC2) and various tumors but discrepant results have been reported. Thus, we conducted this meta-analysis to assess the prognostic role of FOXC2 in tumors.

Methods: Four electronic databases (PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, and SinoMed) were screened through September 2019.

Results: The final analysis included 15 reports and 2115 patients; results suggested that cancer patients with FOXC2 had worse overall survival (hazard ratio 2.14, 95% confidence interval (CI) 1.74-2.64), cancer-specific survival (hazard ratio 2.65, 95% CI 1.44-4.89), and disease-free survival (hazard ratio 1.93, 95% CI 1.49-2.50) than patients lacking FOXC2.

Conclusions: The presence of FOXC2 was associated with poor survival in cancer patients. FOXC2 could be a promising prognostic marker in the future.

Aim: Many combinations of inflammation-based markers have been reported their prognostic ability. The prognostic value of albumin-to-gama-glutamyltransferase ratio (AGR), an inflammation-related index, has been identified for several cancers. However, the predictive value of AGR for high-grade glioma patients remains unclear.

Objective: There is a lack of consensus regarding the optimal antithrombotic therapy (ATT) after popliteal and infrapopliteal (PIP) endovascular therapy (EVT). Currently, dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) for 3 months and single antiplatelet therapy (SAPT) are the most prescribed regimens in the Netherlands. Thus far, no randomized comparison has been performed on the optimal ATT approach.

This meta-analysis evaluates outcomes in patients undergoing bioprosthetic aortic valve replacement (bAVR), comparing different antithrombotic strategies. We conducted a systematic search through May 2024. A standard meta-analysis compared outcomes between patients who received anticoagulation therapy (AC) and those who did not.

Background: Despite fractional flow reserve (FFR)-guided deferral of revascularization, recurrent events in patients with diabetes or after myocardial infarction remain common. This study aimed to assess the association between FFR-negative but high-risk nonculprit lesions and clinical outcomes.

Methods: This is a patient-level pooled analysis of the prospective natural-history COMBINE (OCT-FFR) study (Optical Coherence Tomography Morphologic and Fractional Flow Reserve Assessment in Diabetes Mellitus Patients) and PECTUS-obs study (Identification of Risk Factors for Acute Coronary Events by OCT After STEMI and NSTEMI Patients With Residual Non- Flow Limiting Lesions).

Objective: This study aims to evaluate the association between the white blood cell-to-platelet ratio (WPR) and 28-day all-cause mortality among patients experiencing cardiac arrest.

Methods: Utilizing data from 748 cardiac arrest patients in the Medical Information Mart for Intensive Care-IV (MIMIC-IV) 2.2 database, machine learning algorithms, including the Boruta feature selection method, random forest modeling, and SHAP value analysis, were applied to identify significant prognostic biomarkers.
