Background: Acupotomy has been widely used to treat nerve entrapment syndrome. But its efficiency has not been scientifically and methodically evaluated. The aim of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of the acupotomy treatment in patients with nerve entrapment syndrome.
Methods: Fifteen databases will be searched from inception to Dec 2019. We will include randomized controlled trials (RCTs) assessing acupotomy for nerve entrapment syndrome. All RCTs on acupotomy or related interventions will be included. Study inclusion, data extraction and quality assessment will be performed independently by 2 reviewers. Assessment of risk of bias and data synthesis will be performed using RevMan 5.3 software. Cochrane criteria for risk-of-bias will be used to assess the methodological quality of the trials.
Results: This study will provide a high-quality synthesis of pain VAS and functional disability or the quality of life, the success treatment rate, the recurrent rate and the complications rate to assess the effectiveness and safety of acupotomy for nerve entrapment syndrome patients.
Conclusion: This systematic review will provide evidence to judge whether acupotomy is an effective intervention for patients with nerve entrapment syndrome.

Neuropathic pain is a pervasive health concern worldwide, posing significant challenges to both clinicians and neuroscientists. While acute pain serves as a warning signal for potential tissue damage, neuropathic pain represents a chronic pathological condition resulting from injury or disease affecting sensory pathways of the nervous system. Neuropathic pain is characterized by long-lasting ipsilateral hyperalgesia (increased sensitivity to pain), allodynia (pain sensation in response to stimuli that are not normally painful), and spontaneous unprovoked pain.

Rationale: Chronic knee pain is a common health issue that requires effective and noninvasive treatment. We devised a novel noninvasive approach using ultrasound-guided electrical nerve reactivation (ENR) in which ultrasound is used to identify the genicular nerve (GN). Then, transcutaneous low-frequency stimulation is applied for 10 seconds.

Chronic nerve compression disorders, such as carpal tunnel syndrome, are common and can significantly impair daily activities due to motor and sensory dysfunctions. Currently, no systemic pharmacotherapy exists for preventing or treating disease progression. This study aims to investigate whether Neurotropin®, an established analgesic, has therapeutic effects.

The pathogenesis of type I Chiari malformation (CIM) is complex and remains unclear. The theory of posterior cranial fossa incompatibility has gained widespread acceptance in recent years. In the patients with CIM combined with syringomyelia, scoliosis is a common occurrence, with severe cases often leading to complications that necessitate surgical intervention.

Amyloidosis is a deadly systemic disease in which misfolded proteins accumulate in human tissue eventually leading to morbid dysfunction in multiple organ systems. The prognosis of untreated amyloidosis is poor. Orthopedic manifestations of amyloidosis include carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS), trigger digit, distal biceps tendon rupture, rotator cuff disease, and lumbar spinal stenosis.
