Murine splenic macrophage plays a decisive role in host immunity through phagocytosis against pathogens. It was reported that, macrophages also involves in phagocytosis of some tumour cells upon its activation initiated by certain cytokines produced by other immune cell or by indigenously treated. In this study, we have investigated the killing of leukemic blast cells by macrophages upon stimulated with IL-15 and GM-CSF alone or in combination in ENU challenged leukemic murine model. Along with, the release of TNF-α, IL-12 and IFN-γ by macrophages were assayed by ELISA. NO production by macrophages was also investigated. The molecular expressions like GM-CSF and TLRs were investigated for better understand of macrophage-leukemic cell interaction. Result shows that in disease condition macrophages have poor phagocytic activities which may be due to less release of TNF-α, IL-12 and IFN-γ by macrophages. This impaired phagocytic activity in leukemic mice was increase upon stimulation with IL-15 and GM-CSF.

Purpose: To investigate whether sub-Tenon injection of triamcinolone acetonide (STTA) combined with anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) prolongs the recurrence intervals of macular edema (ME) for chronic retinal vein occlusion (RVO) and to investigate the differences in intraocular inflammatory cytokines between good responders (GRs) and non-responders (NRs).
Methods: This retrospective, observational study involved 42 eyes of 42 patients with ME due to chronic RVO who had received only anti-VEGF for ≥ 1 year and were transitioned to combination therapy. GRs were defined as patients whose recurrence intervals were prolonged by ≥ 2 weeks compared with patients receiving anti-VEGF alone.

Background: Immune effector cell-associated neurotoxicity syndrome (ICANS) can be a severe, life-threatening toxicity following CAR T-cell therapy. While currently evaluated by the immune effector cell-associated encephalopathy (ICE) score, not all patients have changes in their ICE score and not all signs and symptoms of neurotoxicity are captured.
Methods: We conducted a prospective, single center cohort pilot study to evaluate a novel, rapid neurocognitive assessment tool (CART-NS) in detecting early, subtle neurotoxicity prior to the onset of ICANS and any deterioration in the ICE score.

We investigated the influence of false lumen (FL) status on the systemic inflammatory response triggered by acute aortic dissection (AAD) using cytokine profiling. The study included 44 patients with AAD. Patients were divided between those with a thrombosed FL (Group T, n = 21) and those with a non-thrombosed FL (Group P, n = 23).

Various public health measures have contained outbreaks of SARS-CoV-2, but concerns remain over the possibility of future surges. Improvements in broadening the vaccine response can stifle new and nascent infections. In this study, we tested the effects of different adjuvant combinations on the immunization of mice with the receptor-binding domain (RBD)-containing the S1-subunit of the spike protein (S1 protein) from SARS-CoV-2 to induce a robust humoral and cellular immune response.

Coronary artery disease (CAD) is a leading cause of mortality in the world. It is important to be able to proactively assess the risk of the disease, using novel biomarkers like cytokines that are indicators of inflammation in addition to traditional predictors of risk. Atherosclerosis, the primary cause of CAD, is an inflammatory disease involving cytokines.
