Background: Patients with chronic pain on long-term opioid therapy often face barriers to accessing effective nonpharmacological treatments, including the burden of multiple sessions, lack of trained clinicians, and travel time. Empowered Relief (ER), a 2-hour, single-session pain relief skills class, can improve pain and quality of life among patients with chronic pain when delivered in person or virtually.
Objective: This study examined the impact of Zoom-delivered ER among people with chronic pain on long-term opioid therapy.

Mutations in the gap junction β2 (GJB2) gene, which encodes connexin 26, are the leading cause of genetic deafness. These mutations are characterized by the degeneration and fragmentation of gap junctions and gap junction plaques (GJPs) composed of connexin 26. Dominant-negative mutations of GJB2, such as R75W, cause syndromic hearing loss and palmoplantar keratoderma.

In-person car safety seat installation programs were suspended during the COVID-19 pandemic, prompting the development of virtual alternatives. However, the effectiveness of these virtual installation programs remains unknown.

In infectious disease surveillance, incidence data are frequently subject to reporting delays and retrospective corrections, making it hard to assess current trends in real time. A variety of probabilistic nowcasting methods have been suggested to correct for the resulting biases. Building upon a recent comparison of eight of these methods in an application to COVID-19 hospitalization data from Germany, the objective of this paper is twofold.
