Background: Excessive exposure to adrenergic vasopressors may be harmful. Non-adrenergic vasopressors may spare adrenergic agents and potentially improve outcomes. We aimed to conduct a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) to evaluate the efficacy of non-adrenergic vasopressors in adult patients receiving vasopressor therapy for vasodilatory shock or perioperative vasoplegia.

Background: Apricot seeds are recommended online for their alleged cancer-fighting and energy-boosting properties. However, they contain high levels of cyanogenic glycosides. Ingesting just a few apricot pits (1-3) can result in severe symptoms and fatalities have been reported after consuming more than 20 pits.

Vitamin B12 deficiency can present with a variety of neurological and cognitive symptoms. Especially in elderly patients, vitamin B12 deficiency can be easily overlooked because symptoms may be attributed to comorbid conditions or solely to the aging process. In this case study, we present two patients, a 71-year-old man and a 74-year-old female, with vitamin B12 deficiency.
