Background: Neuregulin receptor degradation protein-1 (Nrdp1) is an E3 ubiquitin ligase that plays an important role in regulating cell growth, apoptosis and oxidative stress. However, the data regarding its expression and exact mechanism in neuronal injury following ICH has not been well identified.
Methods: In this study, primary cortical neurons from C57BL/6 mice were subjected to erythrocyte lysates. Nrdp1 expression, cell apoptosis, caspase-3 and BRUCE levels were detected. In addition, inflammatory response, brain edema, and neurological injury in ICH mice were also assessed.
Results: We found that the expression of Nrdp1 was significantly increased in neuron cells accompanied by up-regulation of active caspase-3 and decreased expression of BRUCE (an inhibitor of apoptosis protein). However, inhibiting Nrdp1 levels of neurons reduced caspase-3 activity but induced up-regulation of BRUCE. In vivo, inhibiting Nrdp1 levels increased pro-inflammatory cytokines, brain edema, and neurological injury following ICH.
Conclusions: Taken together, the data suggested that Nrdp1 might play a crucial role in neuronal apoptosis via inhibiting BRUCE following ICH.

Inflammation is a crucial factor in intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) pathophysiology, but specific inflammatory biomarkers in ICH patients remain unclear. This study aimed to identify novel circulating inflammatory biomarkers for improved ICH prediction and diagnosis. We profiled expression levels of 92 cardiovascular disease related proteins in plasma from 26 matched ICH patients and controls using Olink technology.

Spontaneous intracerebral hemorrhagic stroke (ICH) is a highly aggressive disease, with a high incidence and mortality rate. Iron deposition following ICH leads to oxidative damage and motor dysfunction, significantly impacting the overall quality of life for those affected. Here, a polyphenolic nanomedicine, catechin-based polyphenol nanoparticles surface-modified by thiol-terminated poly(ethylene glycol) (CNPs@PEG), was developed through the oxidative polymerization and self-assembly of catechin, a natural compound in tea.

Background: A stable and reproducible experimental bacterial pneumonia model postintracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) is necessary to help investigating the pathogenesis and novel treatments of Stroke-associated pneumonia (SAP).
Aim: To establish a Gram-negative bacterial pneumonia-complicating ICH rat model and an acute lung injury (ALI)-complicating ICH rat model.
Methods: We established two standardized models of post-ICH pneumonia by nasal inoculation with () or intratracheal inoculation with lipopolysaccharide (LPS).

Background: Intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) is the most lethal and devastating subtype of stroke. Basal ganglia hemorrhage and thalamic hemorrhage are the most common types of ICH, accounting for 50-70% of all ICH cases, leading to disability and death, and it involves the posterior limb of the internal capsule to varying degrees. In this study, we investigated the impact of varying degrees of the involvement of the posterior limb of the internal capsule on the prognosis of patients with basal ganglia and thalamic ICH and assessed whether it improves the predictive accuracy of the max-ICH score, an existing scale for ICH functional outcome.

Objective: Intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) is a common cerebrovascular disease characterized by high mortality and disability rates. Neuritin, significantly expressed in injured brain tissues, is implicated in the molecular mechanisms underlying acute brain injury. We aimed to explore the prognostic and predictive value of serum neuritin in ICH.
