Introduction: Large melanomas, while relatively uncommon, present significant diagnostic challenges due to their size and potential to mimic other malignancies, leading to delays in appropriate treatment. Initial misdiagnosis is a substantial concern, impacting patient outcomes. This case highlights the importance of immunohistochemistry in cancer diagnosis, and of appropriate therapeutic management, which here included excision surgery of the tumor mass.

Phosphodiesterase-4 (PDE4) is involved in the synthesis of inflammatory cytokines that mediate several chronic inflammatory disorders, including psoriasis and atopic dermatitis. In recent years, the therapeutic armamentarium in dermatology has expanded with the introduction of PDE4 inhibitors, both in oral and topical formulations. PDE4 inhibitors have gained increasing interest due to their remarkable safety record and ease of prescription, as evidenced by the recent influx of literature detailing its off-label uses.

Background: Diet significantly impacts the onset and progression of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), and diet offers unique opportunities for treatment and preventative purposes. However, despite growing interest, no diet has been conclusively associated with improved long-term clinical and endoscopic outcomes in IBD, and evidence-based dietary guidelines for IBD remain scarce. This narrative review critically examines dietary assessment methods tailored to the unique needs of IBD, highlighting opportunities for precision and inclusivity.

Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) imposes serious short- and long-term health problems for the mother and her child. An effective therapeutic that can reduce the incidence of GDM and improve long-term outcomes is a major research priority and is very important for public health. Unfortunately, despite numerous studies, the molecular mechanisms underlying GDM are not fully defined and require further study.

Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS)-guided radiofrequency ablation (RFA) is a promising minimally invasive technique for the treatment of pancreatic lesions. This review first focuses on the technical aspects in EUS-RFA: the procedure typically employs EUS probes with integrated radiofrequency electrodes, enabling accurate targeting and ablation of pancreatic lesions. Different types of RFA devices, monopolar and bipolar energy delivery systems, are discussed, along with considerations for optimal ablation, including energy settings, procedure time, and pre- and post-procedural management.
