We report mid-infrared spectra of silane dispersed in solid neon at relative concentrations 1:1000 and 1:5000, recorded with spectral resolution 0.15 cm. Apart from major lines associated with internal vibrational motions of SiH, SiH and SiH in fundamental modes ν and ν, several weak accompanying lines in each region become discernible at the resolution of our experimental measurements, and are tentatively associated with librational motions of silane molecules in the solid neon lattice. The wavenumbers associated with a few overtone and combination modes are also presented.

Effective targeting of somatic cancer mutations to enhance the efficacy of cancer immunotherapy requires an individualized approach. Autogene cevumeran is a uridine messenger RNA lipoplex-based individualized neoantigen-specific immunotherapy designed from tumor-specific somatic mutation data obtained from tumor tissue of each individual patient to stimulate T cell responses against up to 20 neoantigens. This ongoing phase 1 study evaluated autogene cevumeran as monotherapy (n = 30) and in combination with atezolizumab (n = 183) in pretreated patients with advanced solid tumors.

Background: Belzutifan, a first-in-class HIF-2α inhibitor, has shown antitumour activity as monotherapy and in combination with cabozantinib in patients with previously treated advanced kidney cancer. The phase 2 LITESPARK-003 study was designed to determine the antitumour activity and safety of belzutifan in combination with cabozantinib in patients with advanced clear-cell renal cell carcinoma that was previously untreated (cohort 1) or previously treated with immunotherapy (cohort 2). Here, we report results from cohort 1 of this clinical trial.

Measurement of the Spin Polarization of a Slow Positron Beam Using Circularly Polarized Microwave Radiation.

Phys Rev Lett

Department of Physics and Astronomy, University College London, Gower Street, London WC1E 6BT, United Kingdom.

We have measured the spin polarization of a slow positron beam via state-selective depopulation of 2^{3}S_{1} positronium atoms, generated by passing the beam through a gas cell. Our method employs circularly polarized microwave radiation to drive 2^{3}S_{1}→2^{3}P_{1} transitions, for which either Δm_{J}=+1 or Δm_{J}=-1, and relies on the fact that asymmetries between the two cases yield the underlying positron beam polarization. Using this technique we show that the polarization of a positron beam derived from a solid neon moderator may be increased from 30% to 90% by increasing the moderator thickness, with an associated reduction in beam intensity of 60%.

How Vibrational Notations Can Spoil Infrared Spectroscopy: A Case Study on Isolated Methanol.

ACS Phys Chem Au

November 2024

Department of General, Inorganic and Theoretical Chemistry, University of Innsbruck, Innrain 80, Innsbruck 6020, Austria.

Unraveling methanol's infrared spectrum has challenged spectroscopists for a century, with numerous loose ends still to be explored. We engage in this exploration based on experiments of isolating single methanol molecules in solid argon and neon matrices. We report infrared spectra of methanol in its natural isotopic composition and with partial and full deuteration.

Purpose: In this first-in-human dose escalation study, the safety and efficacy of IO-108, a fully human monoclonal antibody targeting leukocyte immunoglobulin-like receptor B2 (LILRB2), was investigated in patients with advanced solid tumors as monotherapy and in combination with pembrolizumab, an anti-programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) antibody.

Methods: The study included patients with histologically or cytologically confirmed advanced and relapsed solid tumors, with measurable disease by Response Evaluation Criteria In Solid Tumors (RECIST) V.1.
