Unlabelled: Lymphedema is a chronic disabling disease that affects 250 million people worldwide. To this date, it has been proven that treatment of this category of patients should be truly integrated - combining surgical, therapeutic methods and recovery procedures.
Objective: To study the influence of intermittent pneumatic compression (IPC) on microvasculature in patients with lymphedema of the lower extremities.

Manta rays use wing-like pectoral fins for intriguing oscillatory swimming. It provides rich inspiration for designing potentially fast, efficient, and maneuverable soft swimming robots, which, however, have yet to be realized. It remains a grand challenge to combine fast speed, high efficiency, and high maneuverability in a single soft swimmer while using simple actuation and control.

The widespread application of exoskeletons driven by soft actuators in motion assistance and medical rehabilitation has proven effective for patients who struggle with precise object grasping and suffer from insufficient hand strength due to strokes or other conditions. Repetitive passive flexion/extension exercises and active grasp training are known to aid in the restoration of motor nerve function. However, conventional pneumatic artificial muscles (PAMs) used for hand rehabilitation typically allow for bending in only one direction, thereby limiting multi-degree-of-freedom movements.

Practical blood flow restriction (pBFR), using non-pneumatic elastic cuffs, is a feasible and cost-effective alternative to pneumatic systems. There is evidence that cuff stiffness influences haemodynamic and perceptual responses in the upper body during rest. However, the impact of cuff stiffness during exercise is still unknown.
