The fluorescent probes based on Tröger's base motive with both coumarin and cyanine substitution 11-13 have been synthesized by multi-step synthesis in high overall yields. Intracellular localization of prepared probes have been tested using four different cell lines (HF-P4, BLM, U-2 OS and A-2058). Prepared probes have intensive green and red fluorescence. Co-localization with commercial lysosome specific marker LysoTracker Blue DND 22 has been confirmed that all prepared fluorescent probes labeled lysosomal compartment with high selectivity and probes show excellent brightness at low concentration.

Horizontal Distortion Correction of AFM Images Based on Automatic Labeling of Feature Graphics.

Microsc Res Tech

January 2025

School of Electrical & Control Engineering, Shenyang Jianzhu University, Shenyang, China.

The atomic force microscope (AFM) image will be inclined and bent due to the tilt angle between the probe and the sample surface. When the least squares fitting method is used to correct the horizontal distortion of the AFM image, the shape structure that is lower or higher than the sample base will affect the final fitting correction result. In view of the limitations of existing methods and the diversity of AFM images, an AFM image level distortion correction method based on automatic feature marking is proposed.

The iterative bleaching extends multiplexity (IBEX) Knowledge-Base is a central portal for researchers adopting IBEX and related 2D and 3D immunofluorescence imaging methods. The design of the Knowledge-Base is modeled after efforts in the open-source software community and includes three facets: a development platform (GitHub), static website, and service for data archiving. The Knowledge-Base facilitates the practice of open science throughout the research life cycle by providing validation data for recommended and non-recommended reagents, e.

Traumatic cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leakage from skull base fractures increases the risk of bacterial meningitis, which is associated with a high mortality rate in adults, and commonly results in severe neurological outcomes. While most cases of CSF leakage occur within three months post-injury and generally resolve spontaneously, delayed-onset meningitis remains a challenging complication. Herein, we report a rare case of severe bacterial meningitis with an intraventricular abscess one year following a frontal skull base fracture, despite no CSF leak.

Introduction: The maternal mortality crisis in the United States disproportionately affects women who are Black, especially those living in the Gulf South. These disparities result from a confluence of healthcare, policy, and social factors that systematically place Black women at greater risk of maternal morbidities and mortality. This study protocol describes the Southern Center for Maternal Health Equity (SCMHE), a research center funded by the National Institutes of Health in 2023 to reduce preventable causes of maternal morbidity and mortality while improving health equity.
