AI Article Synopsis

  • A new method for oxidative coupling of 1,3-enynamides using DMSO as an oxidant has been created.
  • This method allows for the efficient alkylation of carbon and various unmodified heteroatom nucleophiles like alcohols, thiols, and hydrazides at the γ-position with high selectivity.
  • Kinetic studies indicate that the mechanism varies based on the nucleophile, involving either a concerted S2'' process or a carbocationic mechanism, with remote site-selectivity linked to a positive charge at the terminal carbocationic center.

Article Abstract

Oxidative coupling of 1,3-enynamides using DMSO as a terminal oxidant has been developed. Carbon as well as unmodified heteroatom nucleophiles, including aliphatic alcohols, thiols, and hydrazides, could be efficiently alkylated at the γ-position in a highly regioselective fashion. The kinetic analysis suggested a nucleophile-dependent mechanism ranging from a concerted S2'' to a carbocationic mechanism. Thus, the remote site-selectivity was ascribed to the partial positive charge developing at the terminal carbocationic center.

EGFR inhibitors are a class of targeted therapies utilized in the management of certain tumor kinds such as NSCLC and breast cancer. Series of 1,2,3-triazole-Schiff's base hybrids were designed, synthesized, and estimated for their antitumor effect toward breast cancer cells, MCF-7 and MDA-MB-231. The safety and selectivity of the new compounds were tested using normal cell (WI-38).

Iron regulatory protein 2 (IRP2), a post-transcriptional regulator of cellular iron metabolism has been associated with susceptibility to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Resistive breathing (RB) is the hallmark of the pathophysiology of obstructive airway diseases, especially during exacerbations, where increased mechanical stress is imposed on the lung. We have previously shown that RB, through tracheal banding, mimicking severe airway obstruction, induces pulmonary inflammation and injury in previously healthy mice.

The efficient construction of chiral aryl-containing organosilicon frameworks via catalytic enantioselective three-component silylarylation of alkenes remains a great challenge. Herein, a photoredox/nickel dual-catalytic asymmetric protocol has been disclosed by using a chiral biimidazoline (BiIM) as the ligand, silylboranes as the silyl radical precursors, aryl bromides as the coupling partners, and morpholine as the promoter. Remarkably, the reaction features mild and green conditions, high reaction efficiency, and excellent enantioselectivity, enabling the facile synthesis of valuable chiral tropic acid and sila-isoflavanone structures.

Sugarcane has the most complex polyploid genome in the world, and sugar-related traits are one of the most important aims in sugarcane breeding. It is essential to construct a representative pan-transcriptome that contains all transcripts of a species for studies on genetic diversity, population expression, and omics analyses in sugarcane. In this study, we constructed the first comprehensive pan-transcriptome for sugarcane, and 8434 highly reliable open reading frames were found, which were not aligned with any published sugarcane genome.
