Tumor thrombus in left atrium (LA) is very rare but a serious complication in patients with malignancy. It has a significant impact on clinical decision making, staging and prognosis in oncological patients. Tumor thrombus is seen in a wide variety of malignancies. While rare, lung cancer tumor thrombus may occur. Rarely, it can even extend into LA. Usually, it is managed by surgical resection with chemotherapy. We describe a rare case of tumor thrombus in a patient with squamous cell carcinoma of lung that was managed with chemo- and radiation therapy.

Backgrounds: Venous Thromboembolism (VTE) is a disease entity comprising Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) and Pulmonary Embolism (PE). VTE events increase the mortality rate of patients with cancer receiving platinum-based chemotherapy. Soluble P-Selectin, Neutrophil Extracellular Traps (NET), and myeloperoxidase (MPO) are risk factors associated with DVT in malignancy patients receiving platinum-based chemotherapy.

Objective: This review aimed to examine if there is any difference in the risk of thrombosis and central line-associated bloodstream infection (CLABSI) with the use of peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) and conventional central venous catheters (CVC) in hematological cancer patients.
Methods: We searched the online databases of PubMed, CENTRAL, Scopus, Web of Science, and Embase for all types of studies comparing the risk of thrombosis and CLABSI between PICC and CVC. The search ended on 23rd September 2024.

Arterial cannulation, commonly performed in the radial artery, is a widely used method for continuous blood pressure monitoring. Occasionally, the axillary artery is used as an alternate site of cannulation. However, complications like occlusion can lead to adverse events and severe outcomes.

Background: V617F-mutated myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN) exhibit abnormal proliferation of bone marrow progenitors and increased risk of thrombosis, specifically in splanchnic veins (SVT). The contribution of the endothelium to the development of the prothrombotic phenotype was explored.
Material And Methods: Plasma and serum samples from V617F MPN patients with (n=26) or without (n=7) thrombotic debut and different treatments, were obtained (n=33).

Portal vein tumor thrombus (PVTT) is a poor prognostic factor for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients, highlighting the need for an oral drug delivery system that combines convenience, simplicity, biosafety, and improved patient compliance. Leveraging the unique anatomy of the portal vein and insights from single-cell RNA sequencing of the PVTT tumor microenvironment, we developed oral pellets using CaCO@PDA nanoparticles (NPs) encapsulating both doxorubicin hydrochloride and low molecular weight heparin. These NPs target the tumor thrombus microenvironment, aiming to break down the thrombus barrier and turn the challenge of portal vein blockage into an advantage by enhancing drug delivery efficiency through oral administration.
