Background: Invasive mechanical ventilation in very-low-birth-weight infants (VLBWI) was associated with immediate and long-term complications. Nasal high-frequency oscillation (nHFO) has recently become a new non-invasive ventilation (NIV) mode for treating respiratory failure in VLBWI.
