Acetaminophen- (APAP-) induced hepatic injury is an important clinical challenge. Oxidative stress, inflammation, apoptosis, and endoplasmic reticulum stress (ERS) contribute to the pathogenesis. Methane has potential anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and antiapoptotic properties. This project was aimed at studying the protective effects and relative mechanisms of methane in APAP-induced liver injury. In the experiment, C57BL/6 mice were treated with APAP (400 mg/kg) to induce hepatic injury followed by methane-rich saline (MRS) 10 ml/kg i.p. after 12 and 24 h. We observed that MRS alleviated the histopathological lesions in the liver, decreased serum aminotransferase levels, reduced the levels of inflammatory cytokines, suppressed the nuclear factor-B expression. Further, we found that MRS relieved oxidative stress by regulating the Nrf2/HO-1/NQO1 signaling pathway and their downstream products after APAP challenge. MRS also regulated proteins associated with ERS-induced apoptosis. In the experiment, the L-02 cell line was treated with APAP (10 mM) to induce hepatic injury. We found that a methane-rich medium decreased the levels of reactive oxygen species (DHE fluorescent staining), inhibited apoptosis (cell flow test), and regulated the Nrf2/HO-1/NQO1 signaling pathway. Our data indicated that MRS prevented APAP-induced hepatic injury via anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anti-ERS, and antiapoptotic properties involving the Nrf2/HO-1/NQO1 signaling pathway.

This study aimed to investigate the mechanism by which Se in regulates the proliferation and apoptosis of sheep Leydig cells via the miR-200a/NRF pathway. The cells were isolated and purified from the testes of 8-month-old sheep via a Percoll density gradient. After the cells were treated with different concentrations of Se (0, 2.

Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS), as a complex, multisystemic, and multisystemic disorder affecting multiple organs and systems, often accompanies by symptoms such as post-exercise discomfort, sleep disorders, cognitive difficulties, and orthostatic intolerance. Jingfang Granule (JFG) is a traditional Chinese medicine that have significant protective effects on CFS, but the mechanism is still vague.

Aim Of Study: This study was designed to evaluate the protective mechanism of JFG on mice with CFS.

Background: Sulforaphane (SFN) has been demonstrated to exert a protective role in various diseases. However, the role of SFN in phosgene-induced acute lung injury (P-ALI) remains unclear. This study aimed to explore the role and mechanism of SFN in P-ALI and provide a theoretical basis for the clinical prevention and treatment of P-ALI.

This study innovatively utilized kelp-derived nanocellulose and sodium caseinate (SC) to prepare fucoxanthin (Fx)-loaded nanoparticles, exploring their efficacy in reducing oxidative stress and inhibiting lipid accumulation. 2, 2, 6, 6-Tetramethylpiperidine-1-oxyl (TEMPO)-mediated oxidation produced well-dispersed, kelp-derived nanocellulose. When these celluloses were mixed with SC at varying mass ratios, the composite nanoparticles showed excellent stability.
