The NEXUS criteria have been introduced in the 1990s to assist emergency department physicians to decide whether to perform radiographic work-up following cervical whiplash injury. Four criteria have been described on these profile radiographs of the cervical spine including angulation between cervical endplates, 3-mm listhesis, posterior facet joints overlap, and widened interspinous space. Although these criteria could help to detect patients suffering from unstable trauma of the mobile segment if the lower cervical spine, the radiographic signs may be so subtle that even specifically trained physicians like spine surgeons and neuroradiologists may miss them, especially during after-hour shifts.

Peri-implant diseases, including peri-implant mucositis (PIM) and peri-implantitis, are a chronic inflammatory disorder triggered by bacterial biofilm in susceptible hosts. Potential risk factors for peri-implant diseases include smoking, dental plaque accumulation, poor oral hygiene, genetics, and absence of peri-implant keratinized mucosa. This cohort study aimed to evaluate the influence of patient-, implant-, and prosthetic-related factors on PIM and peri-implant bone loss (PBL) around dental implants after 1 year of loading.

Introduction: Our objectives are: To describe the radiological semiology, clinical-analytical features and prognosis related to the target sign (TS) in COVID-19. To determine whether digital thoracic tomosynthesis (DTT) improves the diagnostic ability of radiography.
Material And Methods: Retrospective, descriptive, single-centre, case series study, accepted by our ethical committee.

The aim of this cross-sectional study was to evaluate the effects of individual-level and tooth-level factors on apical periodontitis (AP) in an urban population in southern Brazil. A random sample of digital panoramic radiographs (n = 545) from a dental school database was evaluated. The diagnosis of AP was determined by using a dichotomous scale (yes/no).
