B and T lymphocytes demonstrate important alterations in patients with systemic lupus erythematous (SLE), with a significant upregulation of double negative (DN) B cells. The aim of this study was to evaluate the correlation of T cell immunity changes with the distinct B-cell-pattern SLE. In the present study, flow cytometry was performed in 30 patients in remission of SLE and 31 healthy controls to detect DN B cells (CD19+IgD-CD27-) and a wide range of T lymphocyte subpopulations based on the presence of CD45RA, CCR7, CD31, CD28, and CD57, defined as naive, memory, and advanced differentiated/senescent T cells.

The development of genetic modification techniques has led to a new era in cancer treatments that have been limited to conventional treatments such as chemotherapy. intensive efforts are being performed to develop cancer-targeted therapies to avoid the elimination of non-cancerous cells. One of the most promising approaches is genetically modified CAR-T cell therapy.

Immunosenescence encompasses a spectrum of lymphocyte phenotypic alterations. The aim of the study was to evaluate immunosenescent effect of two different forms of chronic inflammation, Systemic Lupus Erythematosous (SLE), a systemic autoimmune disease, and End-Stage Kidney Disease (ESKD), a chronic inflammatory disorder. Certain lymphocyte surface molecules, including CD31, CD45RA, CCR7, CD28, CD57, for T, and IgD, CD27 for B lymphocytes, were analyzed by flow cytometry in 30 SLE and 53 ESKD patients on hemodialysis (HD), and results were compared to 31 healthy controls (HC) of similar age, gender, and nationality.

The aim of this study is to explore and identify ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP)-related prognostic immune factors and further detect the drug-resistant pathogens to establish the theoretical guidance for clinical prevention and treatment strategies of VAP. A total of 478 patients using ventilator who were hospitalized in July 2014 to November 2016 in our hospital were enrolled in this study. About 103 patients with VAP (21.

Article Synopsis
  • The study investigates the role of miR-802 in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), finding that it is upregulated in both blood and tumor tissue of HCC patients, which correlates with poorer prognosis.
  • Despite its upregulation, miR-802 does not affect the growth or migration of HCC cells, but it is linked to a decline in T-cell function markers, suggesting a role in immune regulation.
  • The research shows that miR-802 targets and suppresses REDD1 expression, leading to increased levels of PD-1 and decreased interferon-γ and CD8/CD28 T-cell numbers, indicating its involvement in T-cell exhaustion and potential effects on HCC progression.
