Mycotic aortic aneurysm (MAA) is rare but lethal. Detection of the causative bacteria is important for successful treatment. In some cases, however, no micro-organisms are detected by repeated blood cultures. Open surgery is the standard procedure for MAA, but endovascular intervention is also performed. An aneurysm specimen cannot be taken for culture when using an endovascular approach, decreasing the opportunity to detect the causative organism. We performed successful endovascular repair in a rare case of a -induced MAA as detected by postoperative computed tomography-guided biopsy. This case may help to establish appropriate medical treatment for MAAs.

Objectives: In recent years, with the advancement of sublobar resection, A safe, painless method for locating peripheral pulmonary nodules is required. Previously, an alternative method of arterial watershed localization was been introduced to remedy the shortcomings of preoperative CT-guided localization or other methods for locating pulmonary nodules, but its technical limitations were discovered during clinical application. Therefore, we innovated a technique to localize non-subpleural nodules using basin analysis of the target vein and validated its feasibility and safety.

A 59-year-old woman presented with multiple mediastinal masses 6 months after post-thymectomy for type B2 thymoma. A diagnosis of small-cell carcinoma (SmCC) via a computed tomography-guided biopsy and fluorine-18-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography revealed no primary lesions outside the anterior mediastinum. The pathologically reevaluated post-thymectomy specimen showed no neuroendocrine differentiation.

Methods: The research was performed under laboratory conditions, using stereotactic navigation, surgical instruments for spinal fusion, development of additional devices and software. During the experiments, all stages of the computed tomography-guided navigation system use were performed-preoperative preparation of patient data and planning to provide visual control of the navigation of surgical instruments during the insertion of screws.
