This article presents the effect of the substrate on the morphology and chemical composition of titanium nitride coatings formed using the condensation with ion bombardment method. Various steels, sintered hard alloy (tungsten carbide - 92%, cobalt - 8%) and titanium-based alloy were used as substrates. The paper presents the XPS data obtained at various depths from the surface. The article also presents the data of the wear resistance of coatings for road milling cutters.

This study investigated the effects of bamboo shoot extract (Bambusa vulgaris) as a feed additive on the health profiles and infection resistance of Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) against Pseudomonas putida. Bamboo shoot extract was added at levels of 0 g, 40 g, and 60 g per 1000 g of diet over a 60-day period. The fish were then challenged with a pathogenic P.

Development and stability of W1/O/W2 double emulsions stabilized by food-grade nanoparticles.

Food Chem

December 2024

Nano-biotechnology Key Laboratory of Hebei Province, State Key Laboratory of Metastable Materials Science and Technology, School of Environmental and Chemical Engineering, Yanshan University, Qinhuangdao 066004, PR China. Electronic address:

This study presented the well stable W1/O/W2 double emulsions stabilized by food-grade nanoparticles. Firstly, the nanoparticles were prepared based on soybean protein isolate and Hohenbuehelia serotina polysaccharides by physical effects, which had the elliptical morphology and the average particle size of 639.96 nm.

A novel metal-organic framework (MOF), (Cu-S)MOF, with a copper-sulfur planar structure was applied to photocatalytic H production application. (Cu-S)MOF@ZnS nanocomposite was synthesized using a microwave-assisted hydrothermal approach. The formation of (Cu-S)MOF and wurtzite ZnS in the composite nanoparticles was analyzed by X-ray diffraction (XRD), field emission-scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), and high-resolution transmission electron microscope (HRTEM).

Hypothesis: Bubbles oscillating near a free surface are common across numerous systems. Thin liquid films (TLFs) formed between an oscillating bubble and a free surface can exhibit distinct morphological features influenced by interfacial properties, evaporation, and deformation history. We hypothesize that a continuous film presence throughout oscillation results in a wimple morphology, whereas intermittent film presence leads to a dimple formation.

The current study investigates and compares the biological effects of ultrathin conformal coatings of zirconium dioxide (ZrO) and vanadium pentoxide (VO) on osteoblastic MG-63 cells grown on TiO nanotube layers (TNTs). Coatings were achieved by the atomic layer deposition (ALD) technique. TNTs with average tube diameters of 15, 30, and 100 nm were fabricated on Ti substrates (via electrochemical anodization) and were used as primary substrates for the study.
