In this journal, Cooley et al. (2017, Study 3) showed that presenting a social target as a group, as opposed to a group composite (i.e., people in a group) or as an individual, lowered perceptions that the target had a sense of mind (perceived capacity for experience and agency), both of which subsequently predicted lower sympathy for the target. In a direct replication but using double the sample size and preregistered hypotheses and methods, we found results strikingly supportive of the target article. We also expanded their findings, showing the effects (particularly of perceived experience) on willingness to help a target in need. The implications for using short communications to promote social change, particularly in a viral social media world, are discussed. (PsycInfo Database Record (c) 2020 APA, all rights reserved).

Objective: To assess the relationship between postoperative opioid consumption and frailty status.
Background: Physiologic reserve can be assessed through both chronologic age as well as measures of frailty. Although prior studies suggest that older individuals may require less opioid following surgery, chronologic age, and frailty do not always align, and little is known regarding postoperative opioid consumption patterns by frailty.

Background: Gram-negative bloodstream infections are associated with significant morbidity and mortality in children. Increasing antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is reported globally, yet efforts to track pediatric AMR at a national level over time are lacking.
Methods: The Australian Group on Antimicrobial Resistance (AGAR) surveillance program captures clinical and microbiological data of isolates detected in blood cultures across Australia.

Objective: Determine if knowledge of a third-trimester ultrasound diagnosis of large for gestational age (LGA) independently increases the risk of cesarean delivery (CD).
Study Design: Historical cohort comparing CD rate among patients diagnosed with an LGA fetus on a clinically indicated ultrasound from January 2017 to July 2021 with those without an LGA diagnosis at 34 weeks or later. LGA was defined as an ultrasound-estimated fetal weight greater than or equal to the 90th percentile for the gestational age.
