A woman in her early 60s noticed bilateral breast masses and visited a different hospital. Core needle biopsy showed diffuse large B-cell lymphoma of the right breast and invasive ductal carcinoma of the left breast. After referral to our department, PET-CT was performed. Compared with mild fluorodeoxyglucose accumulation in left breast cancer(BC), highly accumulated lesions were found on the right breast, left anterior chest wall, nasopharynx, and tonsil. The right breast lesion was the largest with a diameter of 30mm and was considered the primary lesion of malignant lymphoma(ML). The ML was classified as stage Ⅳ, pathologically proven with erythema of the left breast and nasopharynx. Three courses of R-CHOP were performed. However, due to suspicion of heart failure, chemotherapy was changed to R-CEOP(non-anthracycline-containing regimen)and 3 courses were additionally performed. The therapeutic effect of R-Chemo for ML was CR. Left BC showed a tendency of shrinkage. After intrathecal administration of anticancer drugs to prevent infiltration of ML into the central nervous system and preoperative endocrine therapy with aromatase inhibitor, left lumpectomy and sentinel lymph node biopsy were performed. BC was classified as clinical stage ⅠA and had an estrogen receptor score of 3b. Postoperative whole breast radiotherapy was completed, and the planned internal use of exemestane was more than 5 years. With multidisciplinary therapy, 3.5 years had passed since the initial treatment without recurrence.

This paper presents a novel approach for generating virtual non-contrast planning computed tomography (VNC-pCT) images from contrast-enhanced planning CT (CE-pCT) scans using a deep learning model. Unlike previous studies, which often lacked sufficient data pairs of contrast-enhanced and non-contrast CT images, we trained our model on dual-energy CT (DECT) images, using virtual non-contrast CT (VNC CT) images as outputs instead of true non-contrast CT images. We used a deterministic method to convert CE-pCT images into pseudo DECT images for model application.

Tamoxifen, an oral medication that blocks estrogen activity, is frequently prescribed for the treatment of advanced breast cancer and as an additional therapy following surgical removal of early stage disease. A 45-year-old female with a history of breast carcinoma treated with tamoxifen presented with sudden onset bilateral visual impairment for 4 days. On ocular examination, the patient exhibited optic disc edema with hyperemia and bilateral anterior pathway defects in visual evoked potentials.

: Heart failure is associated with high morbidity and mortality and linked with several pre-existing health conditions and risk factors. Early detection and prompt management in heart failure improves patient outcomes. Liver involvement is associated with heart failure disease progression, and hence liver biomarkers and liver fibrosis may have a prognostic impact.

Background/objectives: We assessed the influence of local patients and clinical characteristics on the performance of commercial deep learning (DL) segmentation models for head-and-neck (HN), breast, and prostate cancers.
Methods: Clinical computed tomography (CT) scans and clinically approved contours of 210 patients (53 HN, 49 left breast, 55 right breast, and 53 prostate cancer) were used to train and validate segmentation models integrated within a vendor-supplied DL training toolkit and to assess the performance of both vendor-pretrained and custom-trained models. Four custom models (HN, left breast, right breast, and prostate) were trained and validated with 30 (training)/5 (validation) HN, 34/5 left breast, 39/5 right breast, and 30/5 prostate patients to auto-segment a total of 24 organs at risk (OARs).

Background/objectives: Cardio-oncology has become essential in addressing cardiovascular complications from cancer therapies. While advancements in treatments have improved survival rates, they also increase cardiovascular risks. This study evaluates the cardiotoxic effects of cytostatic treatments, examining the relationship between tumor characteristics, such as histopathology and TNM classification, and cardiovascular complications, aiming to improve cardiotoxicity prevention and management in oncology patients.
