TiO₂ is a significant -type semiconducting material because of its superior electric and photocatalytic properties. Although this material has been extensively studied as a semiconductor electrode for dye-sensitized solar cells for its inherent bandgap and its excellent electrical and chemical properties, the photoelectric efficiency is nevertheless lower than that of the Si-based solar cells, which is generally reported as 13-27%. On the other hand, various carbon structures have been studied to increase the overall charge transport efficiency by reducing the charge transport resistance in the cell while having high electric conductivity. These results are expected to improve the photoelectric conversion efficiency when applied to dye-sensitized solar cells. We fabricated a TiO₂/multi-wall carbon nanotube (MWCNT) core-shell structure by a hydrothermal method. The TiO₂ anatase phase in the TiO₂/MWCNT core-shell structure was confirmed by X-ray diffraction (XRD). The core-shell nanostructure with a diameter of 127 nm to 211 nm was observed by field emission scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM). The morphology of the TiO₂/MWCNT core-shell nanocomposite was also analyzed by transmission electron microscope (TEM). The Fourier-Transform Infrared Spectrometer (FT-IR) and Brunauer Emmett and Teller (BET) method were used to observe the chemical bonding and specific surface area of the TiO₂/MWCNT core-shell nanocomposite, respectively. The TiO₂/MWCNT core-shell composites had a larger specific surface area of 92.00 m²/g, a larger pore volume of 0.33 cm³/g, and a larger pore size of 65.21 nm than commercial TiO₂ nanoparticles (P25). The TiO₂/MWCNT core-shell structure may provide a high-speed path for photoelectrons to pass quickly and will be useful for various applications, such as solar cells and photocatalysts.

A sandwich electrochemical sensor was fabricated based on multi-walled carbon nanotubes/ordered mesoporous carbon/AuNP (MWCNTs/CMK-3/AuNP) nanocomposites and porous core-shell nanoparticles Au@PdNPs to achieve rapid and sensitive detection of AFB in complex matrices. MWCNTs/CMK-3/AuNP nanocomposite, which was prepared by self-assembly method, served as a substrate material to increase the aptamer loading and improve the conductivity and electrocatalytic activity of the electrode for the first signal amplification. Then, Au@PdNPs, which were synthesized by one-pot aqueous phase method, were applied as nanocarriers loaded with plenty of capture probe antibody (Ab) and signal molecule toluidine blue (Tb) to form the Au@PdNPs-Ab-Tb bioconjugates for secondary signal amplification.

A large-sized single crystalline 2D COFs with excellent crystallinity and stability was prepared through the traditional thermal solvent method. The electrochemical performance can be significantly enhanced using a straightforward hybrid approach that involves in situ growth of the 2D COFs on multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs). Both the advantages of COFs and CNTs are mutually enhanced.

In this work, a simple synthesis of low-toxicity transition metal material of WO dots was used as a co-reactant with Au@SiO as a core-shell material and a signal amplification factor to collaboratively promote Ru(bpy) electrochemiluminescence (ECL) for the construction of a highly sensitive aptasensor for the detection of diazinon (DZN) in vegetables. Electrodes modified with multi-walled carbon nanotubes-chitosan composite membranes (MWCNTs-CS) were used to load and immobilize more Ru(bpy).can load more Ru(bpy).

Herein, the nanofabrication and characterization of new conductive materials, PANI-CoPc-fur () ((PANI = polyaniline and CoPc-fur = -4-(furan-2-methylthiophthalocyaninato)Co(II)) and PANI-CoPc-fur--MWCNTs () (-MWCNTs = carboxylic acid-functionalized multiwalled carbon nanotubes), are reported. Subsequently, an electrospun nanofiber (ENF) composite of , encapsulated with a poly(vinyl acetate) shell, was fabricated. The resultant core-shell nanoconjugated fibers, ENFs-, were adsorbed on a glassy carbon electrode (GCE), followed by the immobilization of a permeable adhesion top layer of Nafion (Nf) to render the chemically modified electrode, GCE|ENFs--Nf.

MXene Hollow Spheres Supported by a C-Co Exoskeleton Grow MWCNTs for Efficient Microwave Absorption.

Nanomicro Lett

February 2024

School of Mechanical Engineering, Southeast University, Nanjing, 211189, People's Republic of China.

High-performance microwave absorption (MA) materials must be studied immediately since electromagnetic pollution has become a problem that cannot be disregarded. A straightforward composite material, comprising hollow MXene spheres loaded with C-Co frameworks, was prepared to develop multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs). A high impedance and suitable morphology were guaranteed by the C-Co exoskeleton, the attenuation ability was provided by the MWCNTs endoskeleton, and the material performance was greatly enhanced by the layered core-shell structure.
