Unlabelled: Hyponatraemia is a common electrolyte abnormality seen by internists. Clinical features of hyponatraemia are primarily related to CNS dysfunction, and depend on the severity and acuity of changes in serum sodium concentration. Neurological manifestations of hyponatraemia range from nausea and malaise, with a mild reduction in the serum sodium, to lethargy, decreased level of consciousness, headache, seizures and coma in extreme cases. Focal neurological deficits are very rare in the setting of hyponatraemia. Here, we describe a patient with acute severe symptomatic hyponatraemia presenting with focal neurological deficits that resolved after correction of acute hyponatraemia.
Learning Points: A rare presentation of hyponatraemia is described.Neuroimaging should be performed in patients with focal neurological deficits and hyponatraemia in order to rule out other serious neurological diseases.Correction of severe hyponatraemia can result in resolution of focal neurological deficits.

Background: Huntington disease (HD) is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that causes psychiatric and neurological symptoms, including involuntary and irregular muscle movements (chorea). Chorea can disrupt activities of daily living, pose safety issues, and may lead to social withdrawal. The vesicular monoamine transporter 2 inhibitors tetrabenazine, deutetrabenazine, and valbenazine are approved treatments that can reduce chorea.

Background: This study aims to evaluate the safety of visual percutaneous tracheostomy (vPDT) in neurologic intensive care unit (NICU) patients who are under anticoagulant and antithrombotic therapy.
Methods: A retrospective cohort study was conducted on 54 NICU patients who underwent vPDT at Tai'an Central Hospital from September 2022 to September 2023. The cohort included 36 men and 18 women aged 36-90 years (mean age 62.

Exosomes, which are small extracellular vesicles (sEVs), serve as versatile regulators of intercellular communication in the progression of various diseases, including neurological disorders. Among the diverse array of cargo they carry, non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs) play key regulatory roles in various pathophysiological processes. Exosomal ncRNAs derived from distinct cells modulate their reciprocal crosstalk locally or remotely, thereby mediating neurological diseases.

Purpose: Concurrent electroencephalography (EEG) and functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) have been used to assist in the presurgical localization of seizure foci in people with epilepsy. Our study aimed to examine the clinical feasibility of an optimized concurrent EEG-fMRI protocol.
Methods: The optimized protocol employed a fast-fMRI sequence (sampling rate = 10 Hz) with a spare arrangement, which allowed a time window of 1.
