Nonarteritic anterior ischaemic optic neuropathy (NAION) has been reported as a rare occurrence following cataract surgery. Bilateral sequential NAION following cataract surgery is extremely rare. We report an 83-year-old male who developed bilateral sequential NAION within 5 and 3 weeks of undergoing uneventful cataract surgeries in each eye. A brief review of the literature on this topic is provided. This case serves to add to the ongoing debate about the association between cataract surgery and NAION.

Significance: Despite the availability of various anti-seizure medications, nearly 1/3 of epilepsy patients experience drug-resistant seizures. These patients are left with invasive surgical options that do not guarantee seizure remission. The development of novel treatment options depends on elucidating the complex biology of seizures and brain networks.

Polysulfides play an essential role across a variety of fields, including life sciences, pharmaceuticals, food science, and materials science. However, the controlled sequential installation of groups at both ends of an S-S motif poses enormous challenges due to the reversible nature of the covalent S-S bond. The application of unique disulfide reagents presents one of the most straightforward approaches for constructing diverse polysulfides.

Background: A contemporary trend favours a restricted kinematic alignment (rKA) strategy, incorporating safe boundaries to restore a variable percentage of a patient's natural alignment. This study aims to compare preoperative and postoperative coronal plane knee alignment (CPAK) in patients undergoing bilateral TKA with SAIPH implants (MatOrtho, UK). The concept was to control the implant (same prosthesis both sides), patient (bilateral model) and assess what effect any surgical alteration in alignment had on patient's outcomes measured by patient-reported outcome measures (PROMS) and patient satisfaction.

Objective: The objective of this review is to evaluate the effect of cochlear implants on cognitive function in pediatric patients with hearing loss.
Introduction: Cognitive impairments have been reported in children with hearing loss. This is supported by the auditory scaffolding hypothesis, which describes sound as the basis for processing sequential information.
Background: Constituting ~0.5% of all NHS cataract operations, national provision of immediately sequential bilateral cataract surgery (ISBCS) is limited. Combining offering ISBCS within a novel one-stop see-and-treat (S&T) cataract pathway would offer patients the opportunity for two cataract operations in a single hospital visit.
