Porcine circovirus type 3 (PCV3) is a newly identified virus, which is associated with PDNS-like clinical signs, reproductive failure, cardiac and multiorgan inflammation. However, the genotype of PCV3 is still controversial. Here, we reconstructed the phylogenies of 194 complete coding sequences of PCV3 using five different phylogenetic methods. The results showed five trees reconstructed using different methods displayed similar phylogenies, indicating genotyping based on complete coding sequences of PCV3 is stable and accurate.

J Thorac Dis

December 2024

Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine, Seoul St. Mary's Hospital, College of Medicine, The Catholic University of Korea, Seoul, Republic of Korea.

Background: The benefits of pulmonary rehabilitation (PR) for patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) have been limited to improving dyspnea, exercise capacity, and quality of life (QoL). This study aimed to assess the current status of PR and its effect on prognosis.

Methods: The Nationwide Korean Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service (HIRA) database was used in this study.

The utilization of chemical pesticides recovers 30%-40% of food losses. However, their application has also triggered a series of problems, including food safety, environmental pollution, pesticide resistance, and incidents of poisoning. Consequently, green pesticides are increasingly seen as viable alternatives to their chemical counterparts.

Introduction: The brainstem vestibular nuclei neurons receive synaptic inputs from inner ear acceleration-sensing hair cells, cerebellar output neurons, and ascending signals from spinal proprioceptive-related neurons. The lateral (LVST) and medial (MVST) vestibulospinal (VS) tracts convey their coded signals to the spinal circuits to rapidly counter externally imposed perturbations to facilitate stability and provide a framework for self-generated head movements.

Methods: The present study describes the morphological characteristics of intraaxonally recorded and labeled VS neurons monosynaptically connected to the 8th nerve.
