Altering the edge sites of 2D MXenes for electrochemical dinitrogen reduction reaction (ENRR) is widely reported, whereas activation of its relatively inert basal planes is neglected. Herein, the activation and the optimization of the basal planes of TiCT (T = *F, *O, and *OH) MXenes toward enhanced ENRR to ammonia is reported. The balanced surface functionalization in TiCT regulates the ENRR kinetics by regulating the potential of zero charge (E) and the electrochemical work function ( ).

Background: The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of soil water stability on maize (Zea mays L.) yield, water use, and its photosynthetic physiological mechanisms, and to innovate the relationship between maize and soil water, which currently only considers soil water content and neglects soil water stability.
Methods: An organized water experiment was conducted on maize.

Cilia are hair-like organelles with vital physiological roles, and ciliogenesis defects underlie a range of severe congenital malformations and human diseases. Here, we report that is essential for cilia development across multiple embryonic tissues including the ear, neuromasts and Kupffer's vesicle (KV), which establishes left/right axial pattern. deficient embryos manifest altered fluid homeostasis and kidney defects including decreased multiciliated cells (MCCs), determining that is essential to properly establish several renal lineages.

Hepatitis E virus (HEV; family ) infections cause >40,000 human deaths annually. Zoonotic infections predominantly originate from ungulates and occasionally from rats, highlighting the zoonotic potential of rodent-associated hepeviruses. We conducted host genomic data mining and uncovered two genetically divergent rodent-associated hepeviruses, and two bat-associated hepeviruses genetically related to known bat-associated strains.

Background: Gangliocapsular stroke is a specific type of hemorrhagic stroke that primarily affects the basal ganglia and internal capsule due to rupture of the lenticulostriate perforating arteries. Patients afflicted with this condition often present with contralateral motor deficits, particularly affecting the upper extremity. Additionally, these individuals may experience challenges in coordination and stability, largely due to the involvement of the shoulder and scapular girdle.
