: To compare the effectiveness of ranibizumab and aflibercept in macular edema (ME) with serous retinal detachment (SRD) following branch retinal vein occlusion (BRVO).: Once every month for 3 months, 33 patients were treated with ranibizumab (Group 1), whereas 30 others were treated with aflibercept (Group 2). In 9 months after that, patients were evaluated every 4 weeks and received additional injections if they met prespecified criteria for retreatment. Corrected visual acuity (BCVA), central foveal thickness (CFT), and height of SRD was measured.: During the first 3 months, the improvement of CFT, BCVA, and height of SRD were greater in Group 2 than Group 1. Those differences disappeared in the subsequent 9 months, and changes in CFT, BCVA, and height of SRD were similar between groups at all other visits.: Aflibercept was more effective than ranibizumab from baseline to Month 3 in ME with SRD following BRVO.

Article Synopsis
  • A 49-year-old male with diabetic retinopathy experienced complications, including serous retinal detachment (SRD) and pigment epithelium detachment (PED) in both eyes after undergoing extensive laser treatment for his condition.* -
  • Despite initial concerns that these changes resembled central serous chorioretinopathy (CSCR), follow-up scans showed the SRD resolved and the PEDs stabilized within 12 weeks without further treatment.* -
  • The findings suggest that specific characteristics of PED can help differentiate it from CSCR, and typically, SRD resolves on its own after laser treatments.*

Article Synopsis
  • The study compared the effectiveness of intravenous tenecteplase and alteplase in treating ischaemic stroke patients identified as having salvageable brain tissue using perfusion imaging, focusing on whether tenecteplase is at least as effective (non-inferior) to alteplase in terms of patient outcomes after 3 months.
  • Conducted across 35 hospitals in eight countries, the trial enrolled 680 patients aged 18 and older, who were randomly assigned to receive either tenecteplase or alteplase, with the primary outcome being the rate of patients without disability measured through the modified Rankin Scale.
  • The trial was halted early due to positive results

Several exposure assessment models use dustiness as an input parameter for scaling or estimating exposure during powder handling. Use of different dustiness methods will result in considerable differences in the dustiness values as they are based on different emission generation principles. EN17199:2019 offers 4 different dustiness test methods considering different dust release scenarios (e.

Purpose: To study the alteration of cytokine factors in aqueous humor and retinal microstructure in the formation of serous retinal detachment (SRD) secondary to retinal vein occlusion.

Methods: The subjects were 39 patients with RVO, of whom 31 patients had SRD (RVO-SRD). Spectral Domain Optical Coherence Tomography (SD-OCT) was used to measure the completeness of photoreceptor inner segment/outer segment (IS/OS) and the external limiting membrane (ELM) as well as the structure of RVO-SRD, including the height and shape of SRD.

Purpose: To study the natural course of staphyloma-induced serous maculopathy (SISM) and the effects of treatments.

Design: Retrospective case series.

Participants: This retrospective analysis included 26 eyes of 20 patients with SISM and at least 12 months of follow-up.
