Cancer-associated gene fusions serve as a potential source of highly immunogenic neoantigens. In this study, we identified fusion proteins from fusion genes and extracted fusion peptides to accurately predict Breast cancer (BRCA) neo-antigen candidates by high-throughput artificial intelligence computation. Firstly, Deepsurv was used to evaluate the prognosis of patients, providing a landscape of prognostic fusion genes in BRCA.

Intranasal immunization is one of the most effective methods for eliciting lung mucosal immunity. Multiple intranasal immunization with bacterial polypeptide, termed as a modified PnxIIIA (MP3) protein, is known to elicit production of a specific antibody in mice. In this study, a nasal immuno-inducible sequence (NAIS) was designed to remove the antigenicity of the MP3 protein that can induce mucosal immunity by intranasal immunization, and was examined to induce antigen-specific antibodies against the fused bacterial thioredoxin (Trx) as a model antigen.

Severe acute respiratory coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) emerged in 2019 as a new virus and caused worldwide outbreaks, quickly turning into a pandemic disease called coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19). All the existing methodologies were used for developing vaccines for this virus. But sporadic infections of this virus and the emergence of new strains to date suggest the incomplete protection offered by the developed vaccines and the need for new research.

The interaction of galectin-8 C-terminal domain with cell surface glycoconjugates modulates membrane elasticity to stimulate antigen uptake and presentation to CD4 T cells.

Galectins constitute a family of soluble lectins with unique capacity to induce macroscale rearrangements upon interacting with cell membrane glycoconjugates. Galectin-8 (Gal-8) is acknowledged for its role in facilitating antigen uptake and processing upon engaging with cell surface glycoconjugates on antigen-presenting cells (APCs). Gal-8 consists of two covalently fused N- and C-terminal carbohydrate recognition domains (N- and C-CRD), each exhibiting distinct glycan specificity.

Impaired endocytosis and accumulation in early endosomal compartments defines herpes simplex virus-mediated disruption of the nonclassical MHC class I-related molecule MR1.

Presentation of metabolites by the major histocompatibility complex class I-related protein 1 (MR1) molecule to mucosal-associated invariant T cells is impaired during herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1) and type 2 (HSV-2) infections. This is surprising given these viruses do not directly synthesise MR1 ligands. We have previously identified several HSV proteins responsible for rapidly downregulating the intracellular pool of immature MR1, effectively inhibiting new surface antigen presentation, while preexisting ligand-bound mature MR1 is unexpectedly upregulated by HSV-1.
