The desire for perfect haemostasis has led the medical equipment industry to produce ideal instruments for safe thyroidectomy. Thus, haemostasis and sealing instruments such as the LigaSureTM Small Jaw, ThunderbeatTM Open Fine Jaw and HarmonicTM Focus have been indicated for thyroid surgery. Aim: The purpose of this study is to present the initial results of using these three surgical instruments for performing monobloc thyroidectomy. Material and We performed a prospective study between January 2014 and July 2019 in which we included all the patients operated by same surgeon using those 3 sealing devices. Thyroidectomies were performed using LigaSureTM Small Jaw (group 1), the ThunderbeatTM Open Fine Jaw (group 2) and HarmonicTM Focus (group 3). The groups were statistically compared in term of duration of surgery and hospitalisation, early postoperative complications as well as voice alteration or acute respiratory failure. No significant differences were observed among groups in terms of patient demographics, pathological diagnoses, postoperative complications, length of hospitalization, and clinical outcomes. Operating time was shorter in group 1. New surgical instruments have beneficial properties, including shortening the operative time, maintaining a clean operating field, and minimising smoke released during the operation.

Background: Hysterectomy is one of the most common surgical procedures performed in the United States and most are now being performed in a minimally invasive approach. Electrosurgery and vessel sealing devices are needed in order to provide hemostasis and vascular coaptation; however, there is no guiding evidence and limited recommendations for the use of the currently available devices for laparoscopic hysterectomy. The purpose of this study is to provide a systematic review of electrosurgical devices used in benign hysterectomy and perform a meta-analysis to find the overall effect of various outcomes.

Background: The new Amplatzer Steerable Delivery Sheath is a delivery system designed to improve ease-of-use and procedural results of left atrial appendage closure (LAAC). We aimed to compare procedural results after switching our LAAC program at a tertiary care center with the Amulet device to the Steerable Delivery Sheath, with a control group of LAAC employing the standard sheath.
Methods: The first n = 32 consecutively treated patients at our site using the Amulet device with the Steerable Delivery Sheath were included in this retrospective analysis.

Background: Regenerative endodontics' primary objective is to establish a favorable environment in the root canal by removing infection, providing a sturdy scaffold, and sealing the apical end of the tooth tightly. These actions should promote pulp regeneration and root development.
Aim: This study evaluated histologically the regenerative potential of injectable hyaluronic acid (HA) hydrogel or collagen with blood clot as scaffolds during revascularization of immature necrotic dog's teeth.

Microtextured microneedles are tiny needle-like structures with micron-scale microtextures, and the drugs stored in the microtextures can be released after entering the skin to achieve the effect of precise drug delivery. In this study, the skin substitution model of Ogden's hyperelastic model and the microneedle array and microtexture models with different geometrical parameters were selected to simulate and analyse the flow of the microtexture microneedle arrays penetrating the skin by the finite-element method, and the length of the microneedles was determined to be 200 μm, the width 160 μm, and the value of the gaps was determined to be 420 μm. A four-pronged cone was chosen as the shape of microneedles, and a rectangle was chosen as the shape of the drug-carrying microneedle.
