Polymer electrolytes have been obtained by using Nepem-117 membranes in a Li form intercalated by polar aprotic solvents, such as dimethylformamide, dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO), and dimethylacetamide (DMA), and solvent mixtures, such as ethylene carbonate-propylene carbonate (EC-PC), EC-DMA, EC-PC-DMA, and EC-PC-DMA-tetrahydrofuran. The obtained electrolytes have been characterized by IR impedance and Li pulsed field gradient NMR spectroscopy. Ion mobility was observed to increase with higher degrees of solvation of the membranes. A method is demonstrated to determine the solvent uptake corresponding to the percolation threshold. With comparable solvent uptake, materials containing a solvent with a higher permittivity and a lower viscosity have higher values of ionic conductivity. The membranes containing the three-component mixture of EC-PC-DMA show the highest ionic conductivity values (8.1 and 2.1 mS/cm at 25 and -20 °C, respectively). Such values exceed the conductivity of electrolytes on the basis of the Nafion membranes solvated with aprotic solvents.

Non-destructive chromatographic methods were used to determine the hold-up volumes of four self-packed columns containing embedded phosphate groups. The stationary phases are named Diol-P-C10, Diol-P-C18, Diol-P-Benzyl and Diol-P-Chol. Short hydrogen bonds (SHBs), characterized by donor-acceptor heteroatom separations below 2.7 Å, are prevalent in condensed-phase systems. Recently, we identified SHBs in nonaqueous binary mixtures of acetic acid and 1-methylimidazole (MIm), where electronic and nuclear quantum effects facilitate extensive proton delocalization.

Photoacids undergo an increase in acidity upon electronic excitation, enabling excited-state proton transfer (ESPT) reactions. A multitude of compounds that allow ESPT has been identified and integrated in numerous applications, as is outlined by reviewing the rich history of photoacid research reaching back more than 90 years. In particular, achievements together with ambitions and challenges are highlighted from a combined experimental and theoretical perspective.

We present a comprehensive spectroscopic study supported by theoretical quantum chemical calculations conducted on a molecular system (4-(5-methyl-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-yl)benzene-1,3-diol (C1) and the antibiotic Amphotericin B (AmB)) that exhibits highly synergistic properties. We previously reported the strong synergism of this molecular system and now wish to present related stationary measurements of UV-Vis absorption, fluorescence, and fluorescence anisotropy in a polar, aprotic solvent (DMSO and a PBS buffer), followed by time-resolved fluorescence intensity and anisotropy decay studies using different ratios of the selected 1,3,4-thiadiazole derivative to Amphotericin B. Absorption spectra measured for the system revealed discrepancies in terms of the shapes of absorption bands, particularly in PBS.

This paper investigates the efficient degradation of ciprofloxacin (CIP) in a sustainable γ-valerolactone (GVL) and water (H₂O) mixed system by controlling proton transfer and reducing the self-decay rate of Fe(VI). The kinetic model reveals that the GVL/H₂O system exhibits a rate constant of (9.7 ± 0.
