We analyze the performance of optomechanical cooling of a mechanical resonator in the presence of a degenerate optical parametric amplifier within the optomechanical cavity, which squeezes the cavity light. We demonstrate that this allows to significantly enhance the cooling efficiency via the coherent suppression of Stokes scattering. The enhanced cooling occurs also far from the resolved sideband regime, and we show that this cooling scheme can be more efficient than schemes realized by injecting a squeezed field into the optomechanical cavity.

Collective phenomena arise from interactions within complex systems, leading to behaviors absent in individual components. Observing quantum collective phenomena with macroscopic mechanical oscillators has been impeded by the stringent requirement that oscillators be identical. We demonstrate the quantum regime for collective motion of = 6 mechanical oscillators, a hexamer, in a superconducting circuit optomechanical platform.

We propose a scheme to enhance optomechanical cooling via synthetic magnetism and frequency modulation (FM) in a three-mode loop-coupled optomechanical system. By introducing synthetic magnetism, the dark-mode effect can be broken, ensuring the simultaneous cooling of the two mechanical resonators. We find that the cooling of the two mechanical resonators is destroyed in the dark-mode-unbreaking (DMU) regime but can be achieved in the dark-mode-breaking (DMB) regime.

We propose a scheme for cooling a mechanical resonator to its ground state in a quadratic optomechanical system, assisted by an atomic ensemble in the unresolved sideband regime. The system features an auxiliary cavity directly coupled to an optical cavity, with a portion of the optical cavity's output field being fed back through an asymmetric beam splitter. Utilizing quantum Langevin and master equations, we derive the optical fluctuation spectrum, the cooling rate, and the mean phonon number of the mechanical resonator.

Squeezing light in an optomechanical system involves reducing quantum noise in one of the light's quadratures through the interaction between optical and mechanical modes. However, achieving successful implementation requires careful control of experimental parameters, which can be challenging. Here, we investigate a two-mode squeezed light transfer from optical to mechanical modes induced by a non-degenerate optical parametric amplifier (OPA).

Dissipation and the accompanying fluctuations are often seen as detrimental for quantum systems since they are associated with fast relaxation and loss of phase coherence. However, it has been proposed that a pure state can be prepared if external noise induces suitable downwards transitions, while exciting transitions are blocked. We demonstrate such a refrigeration mechanism in a cavity optomechanical system, where we prepare a mechanical oscillator in its ground state by injecting strong electromagnetic noise at frequencies around the red mechanical sideband of the cavity.
