Phytochemical investigation on the rhizomes of C.Chr. led to the isolation of three new compounds, named matteuinterins A-C (), together with seven known compounds (). Their structures were elucidated by extensive NMR analyses and chemical derivatization. Compounds - were evaluated for their anti-inflammatory activities on PGE release in LPS-stimulated RAW 264.7 murine macrophages. Compounds and exhibited inhibitory effect on PGE production in LPS-activated murine macrophages with IC values of 17.8 ± 1.5 and 30.3 ± 2.1 μM, respectively.[Formula: see text].
