Cyclophosphamide (CTX) exposure causes premature ovarian insufficiency (POI). The therapeutic potential of exosomes derived from human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells (hucMSCs) is not fully understood, especially regarding whether hypoxic preconditioning enhances their efficacy in POI. In this study, exosomes were isolated and identified from hucMSCs (hucMSCs-Exos) under hypoxic (HExos) and normoxic (NExos) conditions.

The occurrence of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is relevant to impaired intestinal mucosal barrier and disordered gut microbiota, subsequently leading to excessive production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and elevated levels of inflammatory factors. Traditional therapies focus on inhibiting inflammation, but the vast majority involve non-targeted systemic administration, whose long-term use may result in potential side effects. Oral microbial therapy has exhibited great application prospects currently in IBD treatment; however, its progress has been slowed by issues with deficient bioavailability, poor targeting of colitis, and low therapeutic efficacy.

Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is a highly aggressive cancer with poor prognosis, largely due to the rapid development of chemoresistance in patients. Mitochondrial dynamics play a crucial role in cancer cell survival. Currently, the specific mechanisms underlying gemcitabine resistance in PDAC remain unknown.

To investigate the effects of varying NAT1 activity in different cell-lines, mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation, aerobic glycolysis and mitochondrial fuel usage was quantified in a panel of human cell-lines. As NAT1 activity increased, mitochondrial reserve respiratory capacity increased while aerobic glycolysis decreased. In addition, phosphorylation of PDH-E1α in these cells limited their ability to use glucose as a primary fuel source.

Background: 10-Hydroxydec-2-enoic acid (10-HDA), a unique and marker compound in royal jelly, has a wide range of bio-activities. However, its role in regulating inflammation of vascular smooth muscle cell (VSMC), which is essential to a set of vascular diseases, is still unknown.
Purpose: Our study aimed to investigate whether 10-HDA exerts effect on VSMC inflammation via interacting with toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4), a pivotal inflammatory initiator.
