Cardio Vascular risk prevention in Germany has a gap between the ages of 20 and 30 years. We established a program for risk group identification in students and analyzed the screenings according to the ACCF/AHA Stages and NYHA functional classification. In a cross-sectional design, 596 participants completed a sports medical and motor performance check-up.

Background: The development of aortic dissection (AD) is closely associated with inflammation. The Trem2 (triggering receptor expressed on myeloid cells 2)/Tyrobp (TYRO protein tyrosine kinase-binding protein) signaling pathway critically regulates innate immunity and has emerged as an important target in cardiovascular diseases; however, its role in AD remains unclear.
Methods: Transcriptome data from human and mouse ADs were used to perform differentially expressed gene-based protein-protein interaction network analyses.

Aim: To test the feasibility of a participatory design intervention aimed at reducing the risk of cardio-vascular disease among patients suffering from alcohol use disorder (AUD) or severe mental illness (SMI).
Methods: The intervention was developed by patients from the Community Mental Health Center and the Alcohol Treatment Facility in Odense, Denmark, and consisted of eight modules (health interviews, screening and treatment, introduction, diet/alcohol, physical activity, smoking, health app, and sleep problems). The intervention was tested using pre- and post-measurements of selected variables, patients' intervention attendance, and interviews and dialogue workshops at the end of the study.
Background: The optimal strategy in prosthetic heart valve thrombosis (PVT) remains controversial, with no randomized trials and conflicting observational data. We performed a systematic review and meta-analysis of evidence comparing systemic thrombolysis and cardiac surgery in PVT.
Methods And Results: We searched PubMed, the Cochrane Library, and Embase for studies on treatment strategies in patients with left-sided PVT since 2000.

Background The COVID-19 pandemic has had a profound impact on global healthcare systems, often compared to seasonal influenza due to similarities in clinical presentation. This study aims to compare the clinical characteristics, comorbidities, and outcomes of critically ill patients with COVID-19 and those with influenza admitted to a tertiary care hospital in Islamabad, Pakistan. Methods This retrospective cohort study included 120 patients, 60 with confirmed COVID-19 and 60 with confirmed influenza, all of whom required ICU admission and mechanical ventilation between January 1, 2021, and January 1, 2024.
