Background: Neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy for rectal cancer improves surgical outcomes and reduces recurrence but can cause low anterior resection syndrome (LARS), affecting quality of life. This study aims to predict the risk of LARS in male patients with mid-low rectal cancer after laparoscopic total mesorectal excision (TME).
Methods: Clinical data from 203 male patients with mid-low rectal cancer who underwent neoadjuvant therapy and laparoscopic resection were collected.

Objective: The aim of this research was to develop and internally validate a nomogram for forecasting the length of hospital stay following laparoscopic appendectomy in pediatric patients diagnosed with appendicitis.
Methods: We developed a prediction model based on a training dataset of 415 pediatric patients with appendicitis, and hospitalization data were collected retrospectively from January 2021 and December 2022. The primary outcome measure in this study was hospital length of stay (LOS), with prolonged LOS defined as admission for a duration equal to or exceeding the 75th percentile of LOS, including the discharge day.

Background: Achalasia is characterized by failure of relaxation of the lower oesophageal sphincter (LOS) and abnormal peristalsis during swallowing. The study aimed to observe the effects of intervention in three sub-types of achalasia and compare the intervention outcomes among the three sub-types.
Methods: Forty-one patients underwent Eckardt scoring for severity of achalasia, followed by high-resolution manometry (HRM).
