This work introduces a model-based, high-definition dynamic contrast enhanced (DCE) MRI for concurrent estimation of perfusion and microvascular permeability over the whole brain. A time series of reference-subtracted signals is decomposed into one component that reflects main contrast dynamics and the other one that includes residual contrast agents (CA) and background signals. The former is described by linear superposition of a finite number of basic vectors trained from an augmented set of data that consists of tracer-kinetic model driven signal vectors and patient-specific measured ones. Contrast dynamics is estimated by solving a constrained optimization problem that incorporates the linearized signal decomposition into the measurement model of DCE MRI and then combining the main component with the background-suppressed, residual CA signals. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first work that prospectively enables rapid temporal sampling with 1.5 s (3 ∼ 4 times higher than clinical routines) while simultaneously achieving high isotropic spatial resolution with 1.0 mm (4 ∼ 6 times higher than routines), enhancing estimation of both patient-specific inputs and outputs for quantification of microvascular functions. Simulations and experiments are performed to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method in patients with brain cancer.

In this study, the role of a transition metal complex in improving hydrolysis efficiency during nanocellulose production was analysed. Cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs) were extracted from date seeds by incorporating a copper metal complex during HCl hydrolysis. In contrast to traditional HCl hydrolysis at moderate conditions, which yielded only microcrystalline cellulose (MCC), this approach resulted in the extraction of CNCs with a 10 % improved yield compared to MCC.

Schizophrenia (SCHZ), bipolar disorder (BD), and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) share clinical symptoms and risk genes, but the shared and distinct neural dynamic mechanisms remain inadequately understood. Degree is a fundamental and important graph measure in network neuroscience, and we here extended the degree to hierarchical levels based on eigenmodes and compared the resting-state brain networks of three disorders and healthy controls (HC). First, compared to HC, SCHZ and BD patients exhibited substantially overlapped abnormalities in brain networks, wherein BD patients displayed more significant alterations.

Besides consultants and practitioners, some contributions in the organizational economics literature have advocated substituting internal firms' bureaucracies with markets to regulate internal transactions. However, usually the effects of competition on performance are considered in terms competition across firms or industries. By contrast, other contributions point out that competition is pervasive inside firms as well.

We analysed here the dynamic of the kinesin-like Pavarotti (Pav) during male gametogenesis of wild-type and Sas4 mutant flies. Pav localizes to the equatorial region and the inner central spindle of late anaphase wild-type spermatogonia and displays a strong concentration at the midbody during late telophase. At metaphase of the first meiotic division, Pav shows widespread localization on the equatorial region of the spermatocytes.
