Iron Oxide Nanoparticles (IONPs) present unique properties making them one of the most used NPs in the biomedical field. Nevertheless, for many years, growing production and use of IONPs are associated with risks that can affect human and the environment. Thus, it is essential to study the effects of these nanoparticles to better understand their mechanism of action and the molecular perturbations induced in the organism. In the present study, we investigated the toxicological effects of IONPs (γ-FeO) on liver, lung and brain proteomes in Wistar rats. Exposed rats received IONP solution during 7 consecutive days by intranasal instillation at a dose of 10 mg/kg body weight. An iTRAQ-based quantitative proteomics was used to study proteomic variations at the level of the three organs. Using this proteomic approach, we identified 1565; 1135 and 1161 proteins respectively in the brain, liver and lung. Amon them, we quantified 1541; 1125 and 1128 proteins respectively in the brain, liver and lung. Several proteins were dysregulated comparing treated samples to controls, particularly, proteins involved in cytoskeleton remodeling, cellular metabolism, immune system stimulation, inflammation process, response to oxidative stress, angiogenesis, and neurodegenerative diseases.

Objective: This study aims to investigate the monthly variation patterns of bioelectrical impedance (BEI) along 24 meridian pathways in healthy individuals.
Methods: A cohort of 684 healthy middle-aged participants from North China was enrolled between July 1, 2017, and September 5, 2020. BEI measurements were consistently recorded along the 24 meridian pathways over the study period.

Free fentanyl is responsible for its pharmacological effects, but its total concentration is typically determined for therapeutic drug monitoring purposes. Determination of fentanyl concentration can help reduce the prescribed doses, leading to fewer side effects and increased effectiveness. Therefore, predicting free drug concentration in pharmaceutical research is crucial.

Some novel sulphonyl thiourea derivatives (7a-m) containing 4,6-diarylpyrimidine rings were designed and synthesized using a one-pot procedure. These compounds exhibited remarkable dual inhibitory activity against human carbonic anhydrase CA I, CA II, CA IX, and XII isoenzymes and some cancer cell lines. Among them, some thioureas had significantly more potent inhibitory activities in the order of 7l > 7c > 7f (against the CA I isoform), 7f > 7b > 7c (against the CA II isoform), 7c > 7g > 7a > 7b (against the CA IX isoform), and 7d > 7c > 7g > 7f (against the CA XII isoform).

Hepatopulmonary syndrome (HPS) is a severe lung injury caused by chronic liver disease, with limited understanding of the disease pathology. Exosomes are important mediators of intercellular communication that modulates various cellular functions by transferring a variety of intracellular components to target cells. Our recent studies have indicated that a new long noncoding RNA (lncRNA), PICALM-AU1, is mainly expressed in cholangiocytes, and is dramatically induced in the liver during HPS.

Background: To date, the overall survival (OS) of hormone receptor-positive advanced breast cancer (ABC) treated with palbociclib has not been reported in Chinese patients. It still remains unclear what kind of patients may benefit in OS from palbociclib treatment and what the optimal sequential antineoplastic regimen is for those progressing on palbociclib. Therefore, we aimed to investigate the OS outcome of ABC patients receiving palbociclib, establish a predictive model to identify the potential candidates who may benefit from palbociclib and explore the ideal subsequent treatment strategy after palbociclib.
