Xanthomas are rare bone tumors that occur more often in patients with hyperlipidemia or metabolic disorders. We report the case of a 9-year-old child presenting with right shoulder pain after a trauma. A benign osteolytic lesion was found in the proximal humeral metaphysis. Curettage of the lesion was performed. Histologic findings confirmed intraosseous xanthoma. Although there was no evidence of dyslipidemia or metabolic disease, the patient suffered local recurrence at the 8-month follow-up, requiring a second surgery with bone grafting. This difficult and rare diagnosis must be kept in mind with osteolytic lesions.

We aim to compare the clinical outcomes of radical nephroureterectomy with bladder cuff removal (RNU) and segmental resection with ureteral reimplantation (RR) in Chinese patients with distal ureteral urothelial carcinoma. A retrospective analysis of medical records was performed for 922 patients found to have distal ureteral cancer, defined as below the level of the iliac vessels, with 747 patients who underwent RNU and 175 who underwent RR included in the final analysis. The primary endpoints included clinical outcomes and changes in the estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR).

Parathyroid carcinoma (PC) is one of the rarest malignant neoplasms of the human endocrine system, with a prevalence of approximately 0.005% of all oncological diseases. Despite its indolent course, PC generally relapses in about 40%-60% of cases.

Objective: Salivary gland cancers (SGC) are rare cancers with currently no standard treatment for recurrent/metastatic disease. Based on checkpoint inhibitors benefit in a broad range of tumours, NIvolumab in Salivary gland CArcinoma of the Head and Neck (NISCAHN) evaluated nivolumab efficacy in SGC.
Methods And Analysis: In this phase II single-stage Fleming design, patients with SGC with a progressive disease progression within 6 months prior to entering the study, were divided into ACC (adenoid cytic carcinoma) and non-ACC.

Objective: Inducing tumour cell apoptosis is a primary objective of chemotherapy but, to date, there are no validated biomarkers of apoptosis sensitivity or resistance. Our objective was to image multiple apoptosis pathway proteins at single cell level and determine multi-protein associations with recurrence risk and chemotherapy response in patients with stage II colorectal cancer (CRC).
Methods And Analysis: Multiplexed imaging of 16 proteins in the intrinsic and extrinsic apoptosis pathways at single cell resolution on resected tissue from 194 patients with stage II CRC who either received adjuvant chemotherapy (n108) or were treated with surgery only (n=86).

Hyper immunoglobulin M (IgM) syndromes are a collection of uncommon primary combined immunodeficiency disorders. They are characterized by recurrent bacterial infections due to low levels of IgG, IgA, and IgE, while IgM levels remain normal or high. These conditions stem from a mutation in the CD40 ligand gene or disruptions in the CD40-signaling pathway.
