We present a case of non-Hodgkin lymphoma of the rectum in a 41-year-old African American male with a 1 year history of ulcerative colitis and no previous immunomodulatory therapy. The patient presented with a 10-day history of hematochezia, for which endoscopy was performed with gross findings indicative of ulcerative colitis flare. Tissue biopsy, however, demonstrated significant lymphoid infiltrating regions with histologic findings suggestive of a diffuse large B-cell lymphoma. Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma accounts for less than 1% of all cases of colorectal cancer. Associated risk factors have been previously reported but, were absent in the patient's history. This suggests the possibility of distinct genetic abnormalities inherent to the tumor and/or an underlying germline mutation inherent to the patient that may have contributed to the premature development of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma.

The exploration of quantum phases in moiré systems has drawn intense experimental and theoretical efforts. The realization of honeycomb symmetry has been a recent focus. The combination of strong interaction and honeycomb symmetry can lead to exotic electronic states such as fractional Chern insulator, unconventional superconductor, and quantum spin liquid.

Objectives: To analyze the CT imaging features of extranodal natural killer/T (NK/T)-cell lymphoma, nasal type (ENKTCL-NT) involving the gastrointestinal tract (GI), and to compare them with those of Crohn's disease (CD) and diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL).

Materials And Methods: Data were retrospectively collected from 17 patients diagnosed with GI ENKTCL-NT, 68 patients with CD, and 47 patients with DLBCL. The CT findings of ENKTCL-NT were analyzed and compared with those of CD and DLBCL.

Klippel-Feil syndrome (KFS) is a rare congenital disorder characterized by the fusion of cervical vertebrae, with a clinical presentation that can vary widely due to genetic and phenotypic diversity. While KFS can occur as an isolated anomaly, it is often associated with other congenital conditions, such as Sprengel deformity, which may present with or without an omovertebral bone, complicating diagnosis and management. This particular case also involves diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL), the most common subtype of non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

Background: Whole-body magnetic resonance imaging (wbMRI) allows general assessment of systemic cancers including lymphomas without radiation burden.

Aim: To evaluate the diagnostic performance of wbMRI in the staging of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL), determine the value of individual MRI sequences, and assess patients' concerns with wbMRI.

Methods: In this single-center prospective study, adult patients newly diagnosed with systemic DLBCL underwent wbMRI on a 3T scanner [diffusion weighted images with background suppression (DWIBS), T2, short tau inversion recovery (STIR), contrast-enhanced T1] and fluorodeoxyglucose (F-FDG) positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) (reference standard).

Synaptic cleft geometry modulates NMDAR opening probability by tuning neurotransmitter residence time.

Synaptic morphology plays a critical role in modulating the dynamics of neurotransmitter diffusion and receptor activation in interneuron communication. Central physical aspects of synaptic geometry, such as the curvature of the synaptic cleft, the distance between the presynaptic and postsynaptic membranes, and the surface area-to-volume ratio of the cleft, crucially influence glutamate diffusion and N-Methyl-D-Aspartate receptor (NMDAR) opening probabilities. In this study, we developed a stochastic model for receptor activation using realistic synaptic geometries.
