The risks of smoking during pregnancy are serious and well-documented. It is assumed that we do not identify all pregnant women with tobacco and nicotine consumption. Therefore, a new national Danish guideline presents a new screening and referral model for use from early pregnancy. All tobacco and nicotine consumption must be covered, including previous smoking and exposure to tobacco smoke. All pregnant women should be offered help to stop smoking or use of smokeless tobacco and help to avoid any exposure to tobacco smoke. Reference can be made to the municipality, Stoplinien and/or the hospital.

Background: There is limited evidence of high-quality, accessible, culturally safe, and effective digital health interventions for Indigenous mothers and babies. Like any other intervention, the feasibility and efficacy of digital health interventions depend on how well they are co-designed with Indigenous communities and their adaptability to intracultural diversity.
Objective: This study aims to adapt an existing co-designed mobile health (mHealth) intervention app with health professionals and Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander mothers living in South Australia.

This study investigates the impact of twin intrahepatic cholestasis in pregnancy (ICP) in different chorionicity scenarios on pregnancy outcome and risk factors. This retrospective study was designed to investigate the association between ICP and pregnancy outcomes and associated risk factors. Logistic regression analysis was used to verify the correlation between ICP and pregnancy outcome and the associated risk factors with the risk of ICP.

Pregnancy complications pose challenges for both pregnant women and obstetricians globally, with the pathogenesis of many remaining poorly understood. Recently coined as a mode of cell death, cuproptosis has been proposed but remains largely unexplored. This process involves copper overload, resulting in the accumulation of fatty acylated proteins and subsequent loss of iron-sulfur cluster proteins.

Aims: To assess the efficacy and safety of automated insulin delivery (AID) systems compared to standard care in managing glycaemic control during pregnancy in women with Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus (T1DM).
Methods: We searched MEDLINE, Cochrane Library, registries and conference abstracts up to June 2024 for randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and observational studies comparing AID to standard care in pregnant women with T1DM. We conducted random effects meta-analyses for % of 24-h time in range of 63-140 mg/dL (TIR), time in hyperglycaemia (> 140 mg/dl and > 180 mg/dL), hypoglycaemia (< 63 mg/dl and < 54 mg/dL), total insulin dose (units/kg/day), glycemic variability (%), changes in HbA1c (%), maternal and fetal outcomes.

: In the case of threatened preterm birth (PTB) before the 34th week of pregnancy, the application of antenatal corticosteroids (ACSs) for the maturation of the fetal lung is a standard procedure in perinatal medicine. Common diagnoses for ACS use in pregnancy are the preterm rupture of membranes (PPROMs), placental bleeding, premature labor, preeclampsia, oligohydramnios, amniotic infection syndrome (AIS), and cervical insufficiency. The aim of this study was to investigate whether the current diagnosis, which results in ACS, and the patient's risk factors influence the risk of PTB events.
