. cv "Hangju" is an important medicinal material with many functions in China. Flavonoids as the main secondary metabolites are a major class of medicinal components in "Hangju" and its composition and content can change significantly after flooding. This study mimicked the flooding stress of "Hangju" during flower bud differentiation and detected its metabolites in different growth stages. From widely targeted metabolomics data, 661 metabolites were detected, of which 46 differential metabolites exist simultaneously in the different growth stages of "Hangju". The top three types of the 46 differential metabolites were flavone C-glycosides, flavonol and flavone. Our results demonstrated that the accumulation of flavonoids in different growth stages of "Hangju" was different; however, quercetin, eriodictyol and most of the flavone C-glycosides were significantly enhanced in the two stages after flooding stress. The expression of key enzyme genes in the flavonoid synthesis pathway were determined using RT-qPCR, which verified the consistency of the expression levels of , , and with the content of the corresponding flavonoids. A regulatory network of flavonoid biosynthesis was established to illustrate that flooding stress can change the accumulation of flavonoids by affecting the expression of the corresponding key enzymes in the flavonoid synthesis pathway.

Premise: The ability of plants to adapt or acclimate to climate change is inherently linked to their interactions with symbiotic microbes, notably fungi. However, it is unclear whether fungal symbionts from different climates have different impacts on the outcome of plant-fungal interactions, especially under environmental stress.

Methods: We tested three provenances of fungal inoculum (originating from dry, moderate or wet environments) with one host plant genotype exposed to three soil moisture regimes (low, moderate and high).

Acute stress disorder (ASD) is a transient psychiatric disorder that may arise subsequent to abrupt, extreme trauma exposure, and serves as a reliable indicator for the subsequent development of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) (Bryant, 2011; Battle, 2013). It exhibits rapid progression in the aftermath of trauma and persists for a duration of days or weeks (not exceeding one month), manifesting symptoms of dissociation, re-experiencing, avoidance, and hyperarousal (Bielas et al., 2018).

Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) is an effective treatment for obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), yet the specific underlying mechanisms by which ERP improves symptoms remain unclear. Initial theories suggested that habituation to triggering events and stimuli was the key therapeutic factor in ERP, while other theories highlight the role of developing the ability to tolerate distress, rather than reduction of distress. The current study examined improvements in distress tolerance as a mechanism of OCD, anxiety, and depressive symptom reductions during an ERP-based intensive program.

Plants encounter various environmental stresses throughout development, including shade, high light, drought, hypoxia, extreme temperatures, and metal toxicity, all of which adversely affect growth and productivity. Organic acids (OAs), besides serving as intermediates in the tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle, play crucial roles in multiple metabolic pathways and cellular compartments, including mitochondrial metabolism, amino acid metabolism, the glyoxylate cycle, and the photosynthetic mechanisms of C4 and CAM plants. OAs contribute to stress tolerance by acting as root chelating agents, regulating ATP production, and providing reducing power for detoxifying reactive oxygen species (ROS).

: Early interventions using trauma-focused cognitive behavioural therapy have the potential to alleviate post-traumatic stress symptoms in individuals who have experienced recent sexual assault. Specialized Sexual Assault Centers (SACs) in Norway offers psychosocial support, however, this support varies across SACs and its efficacy has not been researched. The Early Intervention after Rape (EIR) study is a multisite randomized controlled trial designed to assess the efficacy and effectiveness of training SAC nurses and social workers to deliver a modified version of prolonged exposure therapy shortly after rape.
