Tongue squamous cell carcinoma (TSCC) is the most common and highly malignant oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) with lymph node metastasis or distant organ metastasis and, thus, low overall survival rates. Studies on the molecular mechanism of the biologic characteristics of TSCC and exploration of targeted therapies have become the frontiers in the research of this disease. Long noncoding RNA (lncRNA), a type of noncoding RNA, plays a key role in the occurrence and development of tumors. In recent years, more and more studies on lncRNA have been focusing on tongue cancer. lncRNA affects the proliferation, invasion, and migration of TSCC cells through a variety of methods and molecular mechanisms. With reference to recent reports, this article provides an overview of the molecular mechanisms of various lncRNAs and their functions in TSCC.

Inefficient control of elevated blood sugar levels can lead to certain health complications such as diabetic nephropathy (DN) and cardiovascular disease (CVD). The identification of effective biomarkers for monitoring diabetes was performed in the present study. The present study aimed to investigate the implications of long non-coding RNA megacluster (lnc-MGC), microRNA (miR)-132 and miR-133a, and their correlation with lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) activity and glycated hemoglobin (HbA1C) levels to identify biomarkers for the early diagnosis of diabetes mellitus, induced DN and CVD.

Transfer RNA-derived small RNAs, a recently identified class of small noncoding RNAs, play a crucial role in regulating gene expression and are implicated in cerebrovascular diseases. However, the specific biological roles and mechanisms of transfer RNA-derived small RNAs in intracranial aneurysms (IAs) remain unclear. In this study, we identified that the transfer RNA-Asp-GTC derived fragment (tRF-AspGTC) is highly expressed in the IA tissues of both humans and mice.

Background And Aim: Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is a remarkably complex malignancy; with considerable genetic, epigenetic, and phenotypic heterogenicity. Circ-RNAs are a novel class of non-coding RNA. They may influence leukemia development and offer exciting possibilities for targeted AML diagnosis and therapy.
