The fibroblastic sleeve is a structure potentially enveloping any intravascular device. At ultrasound scan, it typically presents as a thin layer of variably echogenic material covering the catheter surface, which usually tends to remain into the vessel after the catheter removal. However, several case reports have documented its migration toward the heart or pulmonary artery after a central venous catheter removal.

Background: Ascending aortic thrombus is a rare disease that can cause fatal thromboembolism. The treatment for the disease is not well defined and depends on the clinical experience of surgeons. Most reports of thrombosis in antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) are associated with venous or peripheral arterial thrombosis, and there are almost no reports of thrombosis of the aorta.

Objective: To explore the ultrasonographic features and influencing factors of free-floating thrombus (FFT) detachment in the lower extremity deep veins (LEDVs) of patients with fractures.
Methods: Clinical data of patients diagnosed with FFT in the LEDVs and implanted with an inferior vena cava filter (IVCF) in our hospital between July 2021 and August 2023 were retrospectively analysed. The patients were divided into the thrombus detachment group (the experimental group, n = 92) and the non-thrombus detachment group (the control group, n = 103) based on the presence of detached thrombus in the IVCF.

Background: Behçet's disease is an inflammatory condition, caused by vasculitis of big and small veins and arteries in which, although vascular inflammation is the basis of disease, cardiac involvement is rare. We present a rare case of a man, affected by Behçet's disease, with pulmonary embolism due to a floating thrombus in the right ventricle.
Case Summary: We report a case of a 36-year-old man admitted to emergency department due to dyspnoea and haemoptysis.
