This study examined the factor structure and psychometric properties of the Therapist Response Questionnaire for Adolescents (TRQ-A), an 86-item clinician-report instrument measuring a wide range of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors expressed by therapists toward their adolescent patients. A sample of psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral clinicians ( = 192) filled in the TRQ-A and the latest version of the Shedler-Westen Assessment Procedure for Adolescents (SWAP-II-A) in order to assess the personality styles/disorders of a randomly selected adolescent patient in their care. Factor analysis identified six conceptually coherent and internally consistent countertransference patterns: warm/attuned, angry/criticized, disorganized/frightened, overinvolved/worried, disengaged/hopeless, and sexualized. These patterns were significantly related to patients' personality styles/disorders in a clinically meaningful and systematically predictable manner. The results support the TRQ-A's validity and internal reliability in evaluating the complex portrait of multifaceted reactions that clinicians typically experience toward adolescent patients, and its potential to improve diagnostic accuracy and guide clinicians in planning effective therapeutic interventions. The TRQ-A promises to significantly contribute to this less explored research area and encourage systematic studies of youth treatment, promoting best practice for successful therapeutic outcomes.

A 16-year-old adolescent girl presented with progressive walking imbalance, uncoordination of her limbs, impaired proprioceptive sensation distal to her wrists and ankles, and sensorineural hearing loss. Her evaluation revealed diffuse cerebellar atrophy, a demyelinating neuropathy, and hypergonadotropic hypogonadism. In this article, we present a systematic approach to a patient with early-onset ataxia, cerebellar atrophy, and demyelinating neuropathy.

Early detection of focal cortical dysplasia (FCD) using brain MRI in young children presenting with drug-resistant epilepsy may facilitate prompt surgical treatment, resulting in better control of seizures and decreased associated cognitive difficulties. Characteristics of FCD described in the literature are predominantly based on MRI findings in a fully myelinated brain; therefore, changes occurring during early brain maturation are not well known. In this case report, we describe distinct MRI features of a FCD visualized best before completion of myelination of the cortex and subcortical white matter.

Objectives: We implemented the first national patient experience survey, with novel patient-reported experience measures (PREMs), in out- and inpatient mental health and substance use services in Finland.
Methods: The Outpatient Experience Scale (OPES) and the Inpatient Experience Scale (IPES) were co-designed with experts by experience and professionals. The survey was carried out in 2021 in 435 treatment facilities.

Introduction: Following liver transplantation (LT), adequate nutrition is essential, as malnutrition may contribute to slower growth in pediatric patients and put patients at risk of complications following transplant. Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID) is an eating disorder characterized by restrictive eating patterns that compromise nutrition. Patients with ARFID may have significant difficulty meeting nutritional needs due to fear of gastrointestinal distress, making it especially difficult to manage in patients following LT.

Background: Despite high COVID-19 vaccine coverage in Canada, vaccine acceptance and preferred delivery among newcomers, racialized persons, and those who primarily speak minority languages are not well understood. This national study explores COVID-19 vaccine acceptance, access to vaccines, and delivery preferences among ethnoculturally diverse population groups.
Methods: We conducted two national cross-sectional surveys during the pandemic (Dec 2020 and Oct-Nov 2021).
