Multisite collaboration using REDCap to capture library data.

In January 2018, library services at Providence St. Joseph Health merged to form a single, unified system, incorporating nine libraries and sixteen full-time staff. As a small, nonclinical team of librarians, we needed to make sure our work and value were visible to clinicians, administrators, and other nonlibrary stakeholders. Using REDCap, we developed a form to seamlessly collect statistics about our services.

Background/objectives: This protocol describes a study to investigate the feasibility and preliminary efficacy of a novel Teaching Kitchen Multisite Trial (TK-MT) for adults with cardiometabolic abnormalities. The TK-MT protocol describes a hybrid lifestyle intervention combining in-person and virtual instruction in culinary skills, nutrition education, movement, and mindfulness with community support and behavior change strategies. This 18-month-long randomized controlled trial aims to evaluate the feasibility of implementing a 12-month, 24 class program, assess preliminary study efficacy, and identify barriers and facilitators to implementation.

Research shows that obesity has risen among rehabilitation patients. Despite this, nutrition care in subacute rehabilitation wards focuses primarily on preventing and treating protein-energy malnutrition. The continued provision of energy-dense meals during lengthy rehabilitation admissions may present a risk of overnutrition for some patients, which can adversely affect functional outcomes.
