Mycobacterial spindle cell pseudotumor (MSP) is a rare benign lesion characterized by a proliferation of bland spindle-shaped histiocytes with vague granulomatous formation, positive for acid-fast bacilli staining. This lesion is usually reported in the lymph nodes and skin of immunocompromised patients; only 6 cases primary in the lung have been reported in the English literature to this date. In this article, we present the case of a 42-year-old female status post failed kidney-pancreas transplant with subsequent multiple kidney transplants, on chronic immunosuppression, who developed a mass in the left lower lobe consistent with MSP. was identified in lung tissue culture, an association never previously described in literature. This case report alerts for the possible association of this rare form of non-tuberculous mycobacteria in the pathogenesis of MSP and highlights the importance of this differential diagnosis in lung masses of immunocompromised patients.

To investigate the clinicopathological and genetic features of infantile rhabdomyofibrosarcoma (IRFS) with EGFR kinase domain duplication (EGFR-KDD). The clinical, morphological and immunohistochemical features of three IRFS with EGFR-KDD diagnosed from January 2022 to January 2024 at Department of Pathology, Foshan Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, Foshan, China were retrospectively analyzed using PCR or next generation sequencing technique; and related literature was reviewed. After spinal cord injury (SCI), reactive astrocytes in the injured area are triggered after spinal cord injury (SCI) and to polarize into A1 astrocytes with a proinflammatory phenotype or A2 astrocytes with an anti-inflammatory phenotype. Monopolar spindle binder 2 (MOB2) induces astrocyte stellation, maintains cell homeostasis, and promotes neurite outgrowth; however, its role in the phenotypic transformation of reactive astrocytes remains unclear. RACGAP1 is a Rho-GTPase-activating protein originally discovered in male germ cells to inactivate Rac, RhoA and Cdc42 from the GTP-bound form to the GDP-bound form. GAP has traditionally been known as a tumor suppressor. However, studies increasingly suggest that overexpressed RACGAP1 activates Rac and RhoA in multiple cancers to mediate downstream oncogene overexpression by assisting in the nuclear translocation of signaling molecules and to promote cytokinesis by regulating the cytoskeleton or serving as a component of the central spindle.
