School-based vaccination, as a means to mitigate seasonal influenza outbreak, depends on attaining adequate coverage rate. We evaluated the potential of a fully subsidized school outreach vaccination (SOV) program to achieve epidemic prevention potential in Hong Kong. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the impact of SOV program 2018-2019 on influenza vaccination rates and influenza-like illness (ILI) in the primary school students and their household members during the influenza season. The vaccination rate was significantly higher in the schools offering SOV (intervention schools) (69.2% vs. 34.3%) than those not offering SOV (control schools) ( < .0001). The ILI rate was significantly reduced from 14.1% among non-vaccinated to 7.7% among vaccinated students ( < .0001). Influenza vaccine effectiveness against ILI was 45.3%. The vaccination rates of the household members were the same in both intervention and control schools except in the sub-group of preschool household members with the intervention significantly higher than the control group (43.8% vs. 32%, < .0001). SOV program significantly improved influenza vaccine coverage, and the vaccine reduced ILI incidence. Extension of SOV program to all primary schools as well as kindergartens in Hong Kong could achieve epidemic prevention potential and should be evaluated.

The present study aimed to determine the relationship between circulating progesterone (P4) concentrations and milk yield during the ovulatory follicular wave on the proportion of multiple ovulation in multiparous high-producing Holstein cows (n = 1,345). First-service multiparous cows submitted to a Double-Ovsynch program (GnRH; 7 d later, PGF; 3 d later, GnRH; 7 d later, GnRH [G1]; 7 d later, PGF [PG1]; 1 d later, PGF; ~32 h later, GnRH [G2]; ~16 h later, timed AI [TAI]) were used. To assess ovulatory response and proportion of multiple ovulation (MOV), ovarian ultrasonography examinations were performed at G1 (n = 1,215) and G2 (n = 1,345) and from 40 to 48 h after each GnRH.

Exposure to cleaning products has been associated with harm to the respiratory system, neurotoxicity, harm to the reproductive system, and elevated risk of cancer, with greatest adverse impacts for workers exposed in an occupational setting. Social and consumer interest in cleaning products that are safer for health created a market category of "green" products defined here as products advertised as healthier, non-toxic, or free from harmful chemicals as well as products with a third-party certification for safety or environmental features. In the present study we examined the air quality impacts of cleaning products and air fresheners, measuring the number, concentrations, and emission factors of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in an air chamber following product application.
