Background: The use of vancomycin powder in spine surgery has been supported in adult populations, however, its efficacy in preventing postoperative surgical site infections in AIS patients is yet to be determined.
Methods: A multi-center review was conducted from June 2010 to February 2019, using ICD and CPT codes to identify AIS patients who underwent primary PSF. The patients were divided into two groups: the vancomycin cohort (receiving local vancomycin powder prior to wound closure) and the non-vancomycin cohort.

RNA molecules adopt complex structures that perform essential biological functions across all forms of life, making them promising candidates for therapeutic applications. However, our ability to design new RNA structures remains limited by an incomplete understanding of their folding principles. While global metrics such as the minimum free energy are widely used, they are at odds with naturally occurring structures and incompatible with established design rules.

Objective: The optimal timing of surgical intervention for chronic subdural hematomas (CSDH), specifically night-time versus daytime, remains a subject of debate, with concerns about the potential impact of circadian timing on surgical outcomes. This study evaluated the association between the timing of burr-hole drainage for CSDH and postoperative outcomes, comparing night-time and daytime surgeries.
Methods: In a post-hoc analysis of the FINISH trial, we included adult patients with symptomatic unilateral or bilateral CSDH who underwent burr-hole drainage between January 2020 and August 2022.
