Objective: The aim of this study is to investigate the distribution of anti- immunoglobulin G (IgG) and immünoglobulin M (IgM) antibodies in patients with suspected toxoplasmosis admitted to the Practice and Research Center of Health of the Medical Faculty of Uludağ University.

Methods: The blood samples examined for the presence of anti- IgG antibody and anti- IgM antibody by an enzyme linked fluorescent assay test, anti- IgG avidity value was evaluated by VIDAS (BioMérieux, France) kit.

Results: In our study, anti- IgG seropositivity in 3311 (30.7%) of 10.603 cases and anti- IgM seropositivity in 1423 (9.7%) of 14.618 cases were detected. Seropositivity of anti- IgG was 37.5% in women of childbearing age group. The avidity value was high in 56.1% (n=156) and low in 28.9% (n=80) of childbearing age group women with positive anti- IgG and anti- IgM test.

Conclusion: Especially in regions where seroprevalence is high, we think that pregnant women and women of childbearing age should be investigated in terms of antibodies.

Arthropod-borne viral diseases are acute febrile illnesses, sometimes with chronic effects, that can be debilitating and even fatal worldwide, affecting particularly vulnerable populations. Indigenous communities face not only the burden of these acute febrile illnesses, but also the cardiovascular complications that are worsened by urbanization. A cross-sectional study was conducted in an Indigenous population in the Northeast Region of Brazil to explore the association between arboviral infections (dengue, chikungunya, and Zika) and cardiac biomarkers, including cardiotrophin 1, growth differentiation factor 15, lactate dehydrogenase B, fatty-acid-binding protein 3, myoglobin, N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide, cardiac troponin I, big endothelin 1, and creatine kinase-MB, along with clinical and anthropometric factors.

This was a case report and literature review, aimed to strengthen the understanding and therapy of mycoplasma pneumoniae (MP) pneumonia combined with cold agglutinin disease and pulmonary embolism in children. A 7-year-old boy was taken to the hospital with fever for 7 days, cough for 5 days, and recurrent cyanosis at the extremities of one day duration. Pulmonary artery computed tomography angiography (CTA) showed pulmonary embolism, double pneumonia, and pleural effusion.

Objective: To investigate and assess hemolytic transfusion reaction in patient with complex and combined anti-Fy and anti-Jk which so as to provide a safety blood transfusion strategy.

Methods: ABO/Rh blood grouping, antibody screening and identification, and Coombs' tests were performed by the routine serological methods include manual tube and automatic blood group analyzer with matching micro-column gel cards from Diagnostic Grifols and Jiangsu LIBO. The hospital information system and laboratory information system were used to collect dada on patients' blood routine tests, liver and kidney function, coagulation, cardiac function, and other clinical indicators before and after blood transfusion were analyzed and compared in conjunction with the patients' clinical manifestations.

Accurate quantification of specific biomarkers is essential for clinical diagnosis and evaluating therapeutic efficacy. A self-signal-amplifying poly(acrylic acid) (PAA)/polyaniline (PANI) film-modified disposable and cost-effective screen-printed carbon electrode (SPCE) has been developed for constructing new label-free immunosensors targeting two model biomarkers: human immunoglobulin G (IgG) and alpha-fetoprotein (AFP). The electrochemically deposited PAA/PANI film on the SPCE serves a dual function: both a bio-immobilization support and a signal amplifier, enhancing biomarker detection sensitivity and efficiency.

Recent advances in optical sensing technologies underpin the development of high-performance, surface-sensitive analytical tools capable of reliable and precise detection of molecular targets in complex biological media in non-laboratory settings. Optical fibre sensors guide light to and from a region of interest, enabling sensitive measurements of localized environments. This positions optical fibre sensors as a highly promising technology for a wide range of biochemical and healthcare applications.
