A series of the morpholine-liganded palladium(II) complexes (1a-e) bearing N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) functionalized by benzonitrile were synthesized. These complexes were synthesized from (NHC)Pd(II)(pyridine) complexes (PEPPSI) and morpholine. The new complexes were fully characterized by using H NMR, C NMR, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, and elemental analysis techniques. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction was used to determine the structure of a derivative. The DNA-binding studies of the new (NHC)Pd(II)morpholine complexes were examined using the pBR322 plasmid. The 2,4,6-trimethylbenzyl derivative compound has the most DNA binding activity. In addition, for the 3-methylbenzyl derivative compound, oxidation effects were observed at concentrations higher than 100 µg/ml. Also, the molecular and crystal structures of the complex 3-methylbenzyl derivative compound were recorded by using a single-crystal X-ray diffraction method.

Endophytic fungi are non-pathogenic organisms that colonise healthy plant tissues asymptomatically. Endophytes derived from medicinal plants are sources for identifying natural products and bioactive compounds with potential uses for industry, medicine, agriculture, and related sectors. In the present study, ethyl acetate crude extracts of four endophytic fungal isolates (CALF1, CALF4, and CASF1) from the medicinal plant Plectranthus amboinicus showed potent antimicrobial activity against the test pathogenic bacteria Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Bacillus subtilis using disc diffusion assays.

Tuberculosis (TB) remains a major global threat, with 10 million new cases and 1.5 million deaths each year. In multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB), resistance is most commonly observed against isoniazid (INH) and rifampicin (RIF), the two frontline drugs.

Cancer is a leading cause of death worldwide and its treatment is hampered by the lack of specificity and side effects of current drugs. Cardiotonic steroids (CTS) interact with Na/K-ATPase (NKA) and induce antineoplastic effects, but their narrow therapeutic window is key limiting factor. The synthesis of digitoxigenin derivatives with glycosidic unit modifications is a promising approach to develop more selective and effective antitumor agents.

The advancement of organic room temperature phosphorescence (RTP) materials has attracted considerable interest owing to their extensive applications. Their distinct advantages, including a metal-free composition, low toxicity, and facile synthesis under ambient conditions, make them highly desirable. This study examines the delayed fluorescence (DF) and RTP of metal-free, amorphous indenophenanthridine (IND)-based derivatives (1-10) and provides insights into molecular functionalisation and host matrix effects on delayed emission (RTP and DF).

The coordination compounds featuring a {CuO} core, typically bridged by hydroxo or alkoxo groups, are particularly intriguing due to their notable magnetic properties and catalytic activity. In this study, we explored the synthesis and characterization of four new Schiff base ligands and their subsequent complexation with Cu salts, which resulted in the formation of three tetranuclear complexes: [Cu(L)]·2HO (1), [Cu(L)(HL)](Cl)(NO)·5HO (2), and [Cu(L)] (3), as well as one dinuclear complex: [Cu(L)] (4). These tetranuclear complexes all feature a {CuO} core, but with differing coordination environments around the Cu centers.
